You should stop being depressed, and do something! Go and spread the word about drug abuse, and maybe move to some place with more chill people. Sorry if I sound uninformed, but there are plenty of people and tons of places where people support your ideals. As Abraham Lincoln said: People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be. There are lots of things you can do to help others as well as yourself, tomorrow will be a brighter day.

Im just curious, since I have such a drastically different point of view, as to where your hatred of "drugs" come from. Also, part of your problem with drugs seems to be your lumping of them all under a single category. Alcohol is certainly bad, and causes huge problems in society by using it. People doing meth or smack, or throwing their life away for cocaine or crack ya sure. They are destroying society.....but some dude smoking weed after a day at work/school/gym/whatever? How can that possibly effect you in any way? Or a group of friends taking mushrooms together for a life changing experience, where they sit in a dudes room or outside somewhere for 8+ hours not bothering a soul? How can that have a negative impact on your life?

The main points holding back human progress is religion and money. I don't care to go into these, but they pose far more danger than mind altering substances.

Also, it's unclear what "faith" you are a part of.....A weird sect of Christianity?

It's really your attitude of black and white, good and bad, that's causing so many problems in your life sir.

Get over it.

Also, you don't live in Africa, you NOR any of your loved ones have been raped or murdered in the past month, you don't have AIDS, you have health care (something many people live in fear of being without) You've most likely eaten food today, and you have enough spare time in your life to post 500 times on some internet forum.

People like you, that think their lives are horrible make me sick, even more so in the period of time we live in, and just how much we know about the horrible places and things people live and do just to put food on their table. Grow up.

I know lots of people who dont use any drugs and dont drink. Its cool to think that youre alone in that but its not true.
Also I dont know where you live, whether its really in canada, but no "9/10 of the worlds" wont hate you for not being racist, wth.

It must be hard with your parents being alcoholics and all but the whole "i am completely alone in my believes" is just gonna make things worse, sometimes it just takes a bit to find the right people.
@n3rv that is such bad reasoning, calm down, you dont know his entire life because of this blog post. I could almost say that people like you make me sick.

If you don't like drugs, don't do them. If you don't like people that do drugs, don't hang around them and hang out with others that are the same. But don't assume that drugs are bad, thats such an ignorant blanket statement, theres so many types, with so many different effects, some bad, some terrible, some are amazing and can give experiences that are beyond words and can inspire like nothing else can.

two things i may point out.

1, yes, he was destroyed by drugs. and look at the pain he suffered because of it. a little more backmeaning to the song.

If it makes you feel better, I despise drugs almost as much as you do. They're a way to achieve an artificial happiness that, if abused, will destroy the user and harm everyone in their life. I'm not a devout Christian, but I strongly believe in acceptance and trust me when I tell you that although racists are loud, they are not in the majority.

@N3rV, no one, and I mean no one is an island, no matter how many songs say so. Everyone is connected to many people in many ways. It's ignorant to think that some guy smoking pot has no negative effect, because he does. In is drugged state, he misses an opportunity to make it through a tough day on his own power, weakening his character. He also could become addicted, ruining relationships and employment opportunities.

Also, your logic at the end is incredibly flawed. imo, the downfall of humanity is very important. Just because he isn't dying of some incurable disease and he knows where his next meal is coming from, doesn't mean he can't have problems of a more emotional/spiritual sort that are just as serious.

He cares about the message, not the messed up guy who sang it.

Cheer up dood!

This might sound like extreme advice, but if you live with your family but argue with them all the time shouldnt you move out and live somewhere where you can make friends like you(as in a job or college)?

Also, well....drugs arent that prevalent anywhere ive been..
I know they dont help society, but when people feel bad, instead of not wanting to live, they just do drugs to make themselves feel good.

Just try for a better attitude bro..
