Me and my friends found a sweet program that lets u have in game chat like ventrilo. Its Raid call. It allows u to see who is talking in game and even has a chat that u can see in game if u want (good for the talking impaired). It is easier to set up in my opinion and is completely free. I had alwys had those problems with finding a vent server.

Raid call had some really nice features like seeing all the chat in game. I thought it was somthing that i should share with everyone :D trying to help others with similar problems like me and my friends.

Different strokes for different fokes

This looks kinda... weird. The website is just thrown together. It's little stuff, though, like the server in their example in the FAQ is called "world of wow". Why not just use Mumble?

Or skype, teamspeak, or any number of established VOIP programs. Hell, you can use Vent for free, you just need a friend who's willing to host a server.

Skype doesn't have push-to-talk.

Skype rules, my only big complaint about it is that some retarded programmer over there thinks it's appropriate for a window to steal focus when someone is added to a call with no way to turn it off. If I'm playing SC2 and talking to my friend and he has to add someone to the call, either they have to wait until I'm done or I have to just leave the game and alt+tab myself because if I alt+tab in the middle of a game I'll never get back in time to avoid getting dropped. My computer isn't good enough to run the game in fullscreen+windowed but I have no idea why it's supposed to be okay for a window to steal focus without permission in the first place.

Yes, but why would you want PTT if you're trying to talk during a game?
I'd totally use skype during 1.6 scrims, but apparently no one else wants to.

Because the majority of people don't know how to properly use a microphone and you can hear their deep breathing, speakers, fan, family, feedback, telephone ringing, television, etc. It is extremely annoying...

Because it's extremely off-putting to hear someone spam at 200APM. I can understand if it's CS or something because there's not that much button pressing involved but, when it comes to SC2, I really don't want to hear every single action.

skype is great but it's annoying with multiple players and lack of PTT
mumble is best right now imo
ts/vent are not that good but for some reason everyone uses them /mindboggle

Yeah, the reason vent > skype, push to talk.
We have multiple brackets generated in advance. Relax . (Kennigit) I just simply do not understand how it can be the time to play can be 22nd at 9:30 pm PST / midnight the 23rd at the same time. (GGzerg)

Put the microphone under your mouth so you don't breathe into it and turn down the sensitivity.

if you want a free to use voice comm that doesnt use up your bandwidth like hosting a skype call then i would recommend mumble. free to download and there are plenty of free servers that the program itself looks for, so its as simple as a few menus and hitting connect.

has all the normal settings like push to talk or voice activated, whatever you prefer.
