I presume standard layout is the layout you see at 90%+ computer terminals? Qwerty with F# keys and offset letters on the main keyboard? If so, I use the standard layout because: 1) I am most familiar with it, since I have always used it 2) Becoming accustomed to other layouts (like DVORAK) would hinder me in any location other than my own workstation 3) I find no nagging flaws or annoyances with the standard layout. It works well for me and I have no thoughts that I am "sticking it out" with something flawed

Grid's main advantage is that it's probably slightly easier to learn in the first place. With standard keys, the best way to learn is probably to mouse over the icons to learn the hotkey, then press the key and after a while, muscle memory kicks in. Grid saves you pointing the mouse over the icon. Me, I use standard, but I redefine a few keys (map position hotkeys are shifted so thaty they're F2-F5, and the 'flick between nexuses' key I put on backtick, left of the '1' key, instead of backspace. I would recommend learning standard as it will drill the hotkeys into muscle memory instead of relying on sight like I am now.

Do any pros remap keys? I assumed not, but maybe I'm wrong. Your key maps are stored with your battlenet profile, so they should be available when you log in, no matter where you are. Whether tournaments are silly enough these days to ban redefining keys I don't know, but I seriously doubt it.
