How is it that my SC2 liquibet ranking is in the 200s and my BW is in the 1000s
when I actually watch BW and I've never watched a single SC2 match?

Maybe I should stop voting for the players I like and actually vote for the better players...

haha i was bw top 30 and sc2 in like 1500, i barely watched sc2 games and only voted on the guys who looked more brain-fried on the pictures xD so, it's nothing about skill or prediction, it's just luck.

I choose whoever is cuter. XD

I mean, I do make some legit bets and choose the better player if it's obvious, otherwise.. XD♥

Same for me but the other way around.
I reckon the issue is that with a game you don't really follow you will be on the favorite (or at least i will) whilst in a game you "know" better you will both be emotionally attached to players but also try to do predictions of when favorites will fall. Since the best way to play a betting game where both players give back the same reward it's always better to pick the favorite.

Right now im rank 42 for BW LB and 1703 for SC2 (woo BW ftw!). I try not to let my personal biases get in the way of who i think will win/lose. Unfortunately sometimes i give some players/teams too much credit and lose out >_> (SKT i'm looking at you)

EDIT: I just remembered for sc2 i only voted for 'whose race is more imba' and players i knew (like old BW players like July/mvp etc)

My LB is so bad now, i spent like most of last season in top 10 and was 1st for like a month, until semi/final of an individual league and i got everything wrong and plummeted as i was down by like 20 points then

Keep in mind that the point difference between ranks is rather low. I have 59 pts in BW, so only 7 more than you but my rank is 144.

i got 1661 in sc2 and tied for 4th in bw lb, yet, despite watching both, i'm significantly more knowledgeable of sc2 players.

bw is the steadier game that allows for decently informed predictions while sc2 results are still too volatile, so it's guesswork a lot of time.

hence your lb disparity

Lol I watch both (sc2 more than bw currently) but I always pick the guys who look cuter (no homo), just a random criteria xD
Unless it includes players from Khan or some distinguished favorite people of mine in both games xD
And hopefully I get them right.

In SC2 I came up wit ha few rules this month that seem to get obscenely high success rates:

1. Vote for the Protoss in every PvZ unless the Z is considered to be the best player by an obscenely huge margin (think: Nestea vs. Minigun or something like that).
2. Vote for the Protoss in PvT unless the Terran is a significantly better opponent (this one doesn't require as radical a difference in skill as the previous one).
3. The same this as 2 applies to ZvT -- vote Zerg unless there's a notable skill difference.
4. Always vote for MC, MVP, and MKP in that order. July seems to do really well despite rule 1 against Protosses who would be considered great, but not absolutely top-tier.

I'm planning on doing this for the next GSL season and seeing how far I can get.

The key is to never vote for OZ, since they suck

I no longer bother. It's not like I even know when the new LB season starts, so when I check the statistics and see I inadvertently missed some votes I rage and abandon the entire thing, hardly visiting the page... and one day I choose to drop in again and the cycle begins anew
