So my Razer Salmosa died and I am going to a lan (south carolina one) later today fml.
So, suggestions on new mouse? Specifically Razer Deathadder vs Razer Abyssus, and if you have used a Salmosa before and also one of those two, your opinion would be especially nice.
Note that my hands are not particularly large (and thus I loved the Salmosa because of its small size, too bad there are no stores around here that sell it.. and price seems to have gone up quite a bit, probably because it was discontinued).

Salmosa is a claw grip mouse while Death Adder is a palm grip mouse, so if you are comfortable with the Salmosa, you will not be with the Death Adder, not in one day at least.
If your LAN is happening soon, borrow a mouse fast. There's a lot of TLers in SoCal so you can probly find one.

Deathadder definitely. I couldn't do without side buttons which the Abyssus lacks. Also, I'm fairly sure the Abyssus doesn't have onboard memory and thus can't have firmware updates (not 100% on this). The sensor in the Abyssus is the same as the 3.5G Deathadder, but there are problems with it that was fixed by firmware updates. The Abyssus will still have the problems due to no firmware updates.

I use my Deathadder with fingertip grip and it's fine.

I believe the Abyssus is the new version of Salmosa so I would go for that one.

why would side buttons be useful to him if he's used to a salmosa? Deathadder is also pretty heavy, so sure u can use with fingertip but its not optimal.
Anyway abyssus is basically the successor to salmosa, which you've been using, I'd definitely go with it.
btw I'm using a salmosa now..its about a year old. how long did yours last? or did you accidentally break it

About a year and a half, but it was a refurbished one from Woot. So abyssus is also claw grip? Cause that's what I use.

Oh I didn't know the Salmosa doesn't have side buttons. I was just basing my post on what I'd buy in this situation. I literally can't use a mouse without side buttons.
I don't think the Deathadder is very heavy at all. I had a Logitech MX518 for 4 years using fingertip grip and that mouse is much heavier than this Deathadder I have now.

You shouldn't have any problems using a claw grip with the Abyssus. As stated before, the Abyssus is the successor to the Salmosa, so you should get along well with it
