Hello everyone. I know that in the past, some people went a little bit overboard here at Team Liquid when Athene announced to the world that he was setting his sights on StarCraft 2. Threads were made, threads were closed, time rolled on. But now it's been a couple of weeks since Athene, the Best Protoss in the World, has entered the scene and people still have some questions.
Is Athene really as good at SC2 as he says he is? Is KiWiKaKi really the one playing on that highly-efficient European account? Is Athene really considering coming to Major League Gaming Dallas to "pwn all the pros and lol in their faces"? I recently had the privilege of sitting down with Athene and getting his sincere thoughts on StarCraft 2, Major League Gaming, educating the gaming masses, whether he will join a team in the near future, and whether he will continue to play StarCraft 2 after he has fully made it his bitch. Might League of Legends or Heroes of Newerth become his newest conquest? All you have to do is watch this exclusive interview to find out!

This guy is so funny. He has legit skill but then adds the ego of your average 12 year old LoL//WoW//HoN player who thinks he's hot shit onto it. It's amazing.
Like, he had some popular WoW videos as well, and they ALL started with a clip of his gf (Tania or something) like at the halfway point so where you saw video it would show a girl, and they would be named like sex tips and tania would give a retarded sex tip and then the next 10 minutes would be about Athene pwning noobs on WoW. LOL

I just can't find his trolling funny anymore. I think it's been way overdone since he released his first video a couple of years ago. If we were to see some actual proof of his playing skills, his trolling wouldn't be as dull to be because a trash talker with the skills to back it up is always interesting to follow.

He's actually done some impressive things in WoW, not like he's completely talking out of his ass.
I really like Athene, his character reminds me alot of Jeremy from the PurePwnage web series, and with that gone its nice to have someone around to make me nostalgic of when I first discovered the pro schene and PP.

The only actual impressive things he's done in WoW is managing to figure out how to power-level incredibly fast and whether or not he actually figured it out himself could be argued at least he was the first to popularize it.
Getting world first 80 and 85 is nothing impressive since it's all about getting enough people willing to participate in the publicity stunt for no monetary gain so that he can earn more money off of YouTube.
He got Merciless Gladiator which he shared with multiple teams because they decided to wintrade and make sure they all had the same rating at the end of the season which questions the legitimacy of his previous "accomplishes" in WoW.
Until we see some proof of his abilities I don't see why we should be riding his dick and feeding him more viewers and subscribers.
Yeah i really want to see some kind of proof like FPVOD or something but i suppose that wont happen for a long time because he loves the ****talk and attention around him.
The reason I love Athene so much is that he's the master of getting people to take him seriously.

100% agree. The best part of PurePwnage was the beginning, when it was just some guy and his friends and some adventures in the realm of gaming, before people were becoming super-heroes that fought with keyboards. o_o;
I saw this in my subscriptions, and I am looking forward to watching it and (hopfully) learning more about this Athene guy. GJ on getting the interview though, Josh.

It would be so cool to see him actually part of ROOT or to play in MLG Dallas...even though that's so unlikely and he's just being his old usual troll self. I'm not sure I understand how he's the best troll or even a particularly good one. He's just... a troll. I feel like I'm missing something.
I love Athenes videos. But if he doesn't go to tournaments to prove his skill then I would consider his SC2 career nothing special even if he is pretty good.
The problem now is, I'm not sure if he'll hit Rank 1 or go to an event either. He is spending too much time messing with Insane AIs instead of real players.
Watch this vid before i knew athene was a total douche bag and totally wanted to watch this guy get fucked up. Now after reading this thread i find it kinda funny.
Thanks for the interview, glad to see that Athene remains his biggest fan. It would be great if he came to any live event to prove his amazing skills, but he has never and probably will never.

Only 50% sure? It's Athene, of course he's trolling. The thing about Athene is that when he actually wants to accomplish something, he's ridiculously dedicated. Even if he doesn't necessarily succeed, he'll do his absolute best.
