Karliath: I saw it to.

To be honest I don't get like you guys are taking me entirely seriously, I don't get how jelly would help solve the problem. Though I dunno, maybe its kinda a macgyver solution, crazier things...

Well I think jelly is correct, but I'm not sure it's grape though, since it didn't work before. It's because they have organofluorine in them, which really helps lubricate the computer parts. Actually, the people who build the computers use a specific type of organofluorine called Isoflurane to make the dvd drive slide in and out in the first place.

Edit: Oh dude I got it! It's blackberry jelly, which contains fluorouracil (another type of organofluorine, or natural lubricant). It's basically a type of friction modifier that chemically bind to hard surfaces to reduce surface friction with or without bulk lubricant present for hydrodynamic lubrication. In jelly, it makes sure that the jelly doesn't stick completely to the jar. When you put it in your computer though, it should allow the parts to slide apart easily.

Uh oh, I've seen this happen to other people too. The thing about temp credit cards is that after making a purchase, if there is a "marginal" amount of money left (under $10 i believe), the website doesn't send the signal to your computer to eject the card, and it tells your computer to lock the DVD tray up. It's kind of a scam that those guys run to make money off people. Sometimes they randomly decide to not let a card eject just for the extra money. You need to be more careful next time.
As for getting the card out, I don't know exactly what would work, but maybe Mani's method seems viable.

I run a small Mac repair shop from my mother's basement. So far I've mostly dealt with nasty Mac viruses, as most solve their hardware problems by purchasing a new Mac entirely. But I think I can help you, and I'm willing to do it for free if you can get your Mac to me. Let me know, and I'll have my hammer on the ready.

Use some lubricants? I don't know about jelly but I usually use WD-40.

I've never heard of using a credit card in a DVD drive. But I'm assuming that if it's stuck, then removing it would be the same way you'd remove a disk from a Mac DVD drive.

A quick search gave me these links. I've never used any of these methods before, so I can't vouch for them. But they do make sense.

Good luck in getting that card out!

I laughed so hard after reading the OP several times. I still am undecided as to wether or not he actually put his card into his DVD drive. Im leaning towards he actually did it, however the part about the transaction completing perplexed me quite a bit until I read this thread.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=47518

And then I understood completely.

EDIT: I hear that molasses works well with lubing the disc tray up though.
Why?

Maybe if you introduce another card then he ejects them both. if not try more things like papers or monopoly cash, when the tray is full maybe it spits all it out.

Another good idea would be turning your computer so the DVD tray points to the floor and then using a big hammer to bash the back of your computer until it gets out.

Do NOT use jelly, some of these people are seriously misinformed. It is blackberry or strawberry JAM that you need, and it has to be seedless otherwise the tiny seeds can get caught in the gears of DVD drive. A nice mixture Ive used with success is about 75% jam and 25% vasoline. Spread it around generously though otherwise it may not work well.

Yes this also works well when mixed with jam. For some reason though vasoline and molasses react strangely with one another and become chunky, so don't put the molasses in your vasoline/jam mixture.

Step 1: Tilt your computer so that the disk drive is facing the ground.

Step 2: Shake your computer REALLY hard.

Step 3: Repeat step 2 until disk drive falls out.

You guys got it all wrong. If he can't even open the DVD player, how is he going to get the jelly in to work it out? Hes gonna need to get a paper clip and force the little bugga out. If the paper clip doesn't work, you should try pliers. It might be that the card got stuck between the gears or the rubber band that makes it work broke. If these don't work, you may try to shut down the computer which will unlock the gears a bit then try to pry it open. If you can get it a little open, but not all the way, the next thing to do is use jelly. Not the stuff these guys were saying, you want to use KYX Jelly. Its a better lubricant and won't leave the drive all sticky. Trust me. My buddy had the same exact issue and we got it fixed in 30 minutes this way.

Uninstall HoN, install WC3

As for your other predicament? Have you tried greasing the grinds with butter, soy milk and soy sauce?

Better yet, try those Wonder Cards of the Gameboy
