Actually, before the republic, China had hours that were two hours long. Thats why an hour is now called xiaoshi, meaning small hour. There should be clocks of this somewhere..

Apparently Tyler doesn't know that our time units (and angles, those are basically the same in astronomical time keeping) are one of the last remnants of the old Babylonian base 60 counting system.

And I'd love to get rid of the base 10 numbers and have base 60 for ordinal numbers. Why? Because 60 is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Also by 10 and 12. Easy splitting of amounts all around.

I probably have spent more time on that than anyone should, but while at it, also consolidate the general unit system to a natural plank constant based measuring. And the alphabet to a 60 letters so you can use the same symbols for them as for ordinal numbers while the writing is a korean style syllable grouping. For non natural numbers use a balanced ternary denotation which also could (and IMHO should) be the base of digital technology.

But preexisting standards are very very hard to get rid of, especially those so deeply embedded in culture.

I would love for there to be 10 hours in day. As in, you divide the earth's rotation into 10 bits an call each an hour. Each hour should then be divided into 100 more bits called minutes, each minute into 100 seconds etc etc etc.
This will of course mean a new layout for the non-digital clocks, so each number should be 36.5 degrees apart. ez - like our metric system and you would be able to read the time off the clock without having to think in pm and am.

36.5? What happened to good old 36?

360 degrees in a circle... divided by 10 = 36

Sometimes there's a thin line between sarcasm and stupidity. On the internet I tend to lean towards stupidity - just to make sure.

I like mathematics ... it solves almost every problem in life.

For example, substitution ... just substitude the DJ in DJwheat by null set, then light it, wait 10 minutes and after that, everything in this threat makes perfect sense.
You will notice, my postcount is quite low. That is because I'm a new community member. I started playing when SC2 came out, so please don't judge me too hard on that. I just try to be part of it. 2500 ish Diamond Protoss

or imo an improved version:
Wouldnt make more sense to go
1day = 12 hours, 1hr = 60minutes, 1min = 120 seconds
rather than the
1day = 12 hours, 1hr = 120minutes, 1min = 60 seconds
And if you had to mod the design of any current analog clocks you just need to half the speed of everything!
Instead of everything but the seconds. (converting digital clocks to either schem should be very simple)

I feel like my mind was just crushed by the weight of the brilliance. Surely you must research blink and position your stalkers on the edge of the cliff above the timekeeping community so that you can deny their mineral patches.

Why. The. Fuck. would I think of Kulas Ravine in a time like OH FUCKING BECAUSE IT IS THE MAP EQUIVALENT OF THE 12-HOUR CLOCK
Always keep score.
