20 Game Lose Streak

Well, for the past month I've taken a break from Starcraft 2 to keep up my grades and whatnot. So two days ago, with the semester over I was happy to start playing again. I started off pretty well with a few wins then shit happened. I got a shit ton of pvp where I got 4 gated, pvt's where I lost to some stupid mech builds or banshees and pvz's where I straight up lost because I forgot what to do against Zerg. Won a few games here and there but I'm down 20 games overall. What should I do to get back on my game?

watch the replays of the games you lost
find out things you've done wrong (scouting/too much money/bad decisions)
work on those things and ladder

I watch some of them but I feel like I know what I did wrong on most of them. Most of the time some cheese tactic usually kills me.

My best advise is to learn to counter each build. Instead of losing whenever an opponent does a strong build, know what to scout for and then counter it. I can say for certain that people on ladder pretty much do one build and stick with it. They rarely change their gameplan. Reacting to your opponent is the most powerful tool at your disposal.

Cheese to build confidence. Play standard and go on losing streak. Cheese to regain confidence. Realize you only win when you cheese. Cheese every game. There you're happy now (Remember to cheese in RL)

u just need stop of play for 2 days,i remember i loss 30 games streak and down B to C rank -___- i was like o___o

Yea, the sad thing is I've been trying to play a macro game in most of those games I lost...

You need to watch alot of streams to find out how the game has evolved and refined since you last played.

Loss streak = losing streak =/= lose streak. If you "lost" your streak then you'd be losing (leaving behind) your loss streak, therefore breaking out of your loss streak.

Also, "down 20 games overall" but "won a few games here and there" =/= loss streak, because according to your logic I won 200 games this past month losing a few here and there, so therefore I must be on a 200-game winning streak.

hmm well since you took some time off, your mechanics might be a little off which makes you more susceptible to 4gates. there are new builds out since you last played, most likely, so you will have to get used to the new flavor of the month builds out there but once you do you'll get back into it. no sweat!

Thanks for the advice. But in all seriousness, thanks to the other people who actually contributed. Looks like I'm gonna spend some time on my mechanics.

ummm play customs and don't worry about how many you're losing/winning? Then when you feel comfortable mechanics wise or that you're near your earlier peak, go to ladder. Also starcraft 2 is maturing quite quickly comparatively to the way sc1 matured. so every day the average skill level jumps, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. But in the time you took off, millions of gamers have stepped up their game and been practicing new strategies or have been fine tuning their strategies ^^
