(hm,the title should be " I'm losing..." not lost oh well) A little backround, I'm a heavy pc gamer who plays a ton of TF2 + L4D + Killing Floor + BFBC2
It all happened during Christmas holiday break. While i was playing multiplayer games my ping/lag was going up and down like crazy. (i/nobody was even downloading of any kind; torrent included.)
So because of my wild ping, i decided to take a break from gaming until my ping returns to normal.(which it did about 3wks later)
During that time, I just internet surfed, watch movies..minecraft(s/p) etc...
Now, January came, with college starting, I got a little busy with things...but not that whole a lot.
I don't know how or why it's doing it, but I haven't touched my favorite games at all(Even though i know my ping is back to normal and I"m not even that busy guy. I do occasionaly play minecraft, some crappy games here and there but that's about it..
What is wrong with me..am I just bored of playing games now? Play something new? Get a life/GF? I don't know, but wat i do know that i don't feel like playing games right now. I always play games whenever i'm bored..but im not...argh!

I haven't lost interest but the desire is dieing down. I'm getting old.

Do other things you are interested in?

I still do other hobbies at the same pace as i was before...so that's not really my concern...

Thoughtful people?
OP: Maybe pick up a new title. Best thing is to go with the flow and have fun with whatever appeals to you, video games or not.

Some people do. :/ Some people will invest a lot of time into a game, and as they're doing well they start to lose interest. All that time wasted, right? No need to question what people get upset about.

No need to question what people get upset about. That's a load of crap. If you stop playing the guitar after years of practice, your time wasn't wasted; you've just moved on to other things. Do whatever interests you and sparks your passion. There's nothing unhealthy about switching hobbies.

If you enjoy doing something, do it. If you don't, stop doing it. This really isn't rocket science.

it is to me

Sometimes you keep doing the usual just out of habit without realizing the fun is gone. Now that something rocked you out of it, you are free to explore new things. But still... no games? Maybe you are ill.
|
be thankful man! games is a hard addiction to kick, and if you did it already without trying, good for you.
I've pretty much kicked it except for SC2, and even there my desire is getting low. Once I kick SC though, ill finally be free! I cant wait and hope it happens soon.

Join a raiding guild in WoW.

Well people say that as you grow older, the more time you spend on recreational activities.

Agreed. Time spent doing things you enjoy is never time wasted
Go go, just enjoy life :D

same
I find a lot more enjoyment watching livestreams/vods of people playing games than actually playing them. It started in college when all my roommates would ask me to play a game of dota but I'd usually say i'm too busy or make up some lame excuse but end up watching them play for the duration anyhow (at which they would bitch me out saying I was lying about being busy).
Nowadays I play a little of WoW and league of legends. I find LoL more entertaining to watch than to play (kinda like SC2) and WoW more fun to theorycraft/read how to play as opposed to actually playing.

Why do people treat playing games like a duty. If you lost the will to play, then don't. It's only sad if you want to play but can't.
