Aight, I didn't really have time to update yesterday. I dont really have much to say either, just that I've managed to not smoke since I decided to stop.
I still get some urges when I wake up, but I've taken my coffee and I tried jogging to school and see if that helped. It did, and so far I haven't had much trouble. The worst time so far was yesterday just ebfore I was going to bed. My dad wanted me to go buy some stuff and I was soooo close buying a pack, but I barely managed to resist myself. I didn't want to dissappoint the TLers! Anyway, Im pretty strong-willed and my determination once I've decided something is awesome, so I think I can still manage to quit completely.
I'd also like to thank Hikko for a pm he sent me, and everyone else that have encouraged me in the other posts. It would prolly have been harder just trying to quit "in the dark", but it seems easier now when Im writing about it.

Don't give up man! A friend of mine who wanted to quit smoking had some trouble resisting the urges. I made him a deal, everytime he really felt like buying a pac he called me instead. I just talked with him, distracted him, and sooner or later he would say that the urge was gone and he just went on with whatever he was doing. Maybe you shoudl try the same, if you think you need it / have a good friend willing to do it.

I wish my GF would stop smoking. I've been with her for 8 months and she's smoked ever since I met her. I told her whenever she smokes I want to smoke and she says I can't smoke... got damn hypocrite! She said she's going to quit later this year... lolz I don't believe it *sigh*

I stopped for 3 months last year and it was actually surprisingly easy. It is all about your will, if you really want, then you manage to quit. However after those 3 months and me realizing sitting in bars a lot with friends that are smokers, i kinda started again. I could've hold and not start, but i decided if i have to breath that shit everytime i go somewhere i better be smoking and feel better. Once a smoker quits smoking, he will always remain smoker and have times when he really wants some once in a while. Also i felt like kind of just torturing myself ...sitting in a room full of smoke while trying to not smoke at all - it looses the whole purpose of it and i couldn't drop my friends or nights at the bar either. Now i know i can actually quit, but i don't really feel like it at the moment.
I know it is wrong but i can't really help it.
I wish you strong will and avoid any situation where you go: all right i will have just one, because it doesn't work that way. Either you smoke or you don't. If you are used to drink, it is hard as hell to not light up when drunk.

my grandma was a smoker and im pretty sure it's why i have asthma so i have a personal grudge :D

You will feel such satisfaction years from now when you look back on the day you made a decision and followed through completely. It gives you confidence for everything else. Going back on this choice would be a lack of self-respect.

Sooo.. basicly you trained him to think about you when he wanted to smoke. And now he doesn't want to smoke anymore? God, you must be awfully annoying!

im going on a week with the same feat. after the first three days it got really easy for a bit. being distracted with other things is the only thing you need. when you get bored or dont have anything to do it gets tough heh. sadly, i just moved to vermont. i have a lot of that kind of time.

It's not that difficult to stop as some people make it out to be. I quit a few weeks ago and I had no urge to start again. With some basic determination or goal it's a very simple thing...
