Google Sky Map (astronomy is cool yo!) SnapTell (shopping aid) Advanced Task Killer (don't want your battery to be run down by the apps do you?) AndChat (best IRC client for android phones imo) DiscCat (uses a barcode scanner to help you track your DVD/Blu-Ray/video game collection) SysTray Monitor (I use an older android phone, so I don't know if stuff like battery/memory monitoring is built in now) Plus there's the TL app, can't forget that one. It'd be far more useful to you than it is me. My phone is nearly 2 generations old now. And everything I've listed here is free.

Team Liquid app (makes browsing the site much easier) +1 Google Goggles (just a pretty fun app. Lets you take pictures of movie covers/paintings/etc and tells you what they are and gives you related links. i.e. imdb page of a movie) TuneIn Radio (lets you listen to pretty much any radio station around the world) SoundHound (for figuring out what a song is. Better than Shazam since they changed their free version to only 5 songs per month). Relax and Sleep (good replacement for a clock radio. Love it for its timer sleep function as well as wide variety of white noise/etc to fall asleep to). As far as games go.. Baseball Superstars (2009 is good, 2010 is slightly better but the free version is a lot more limited compared to 2009; if you're into these kind of games anyways). Zenonia 1 or 2 (really well done RPG). aka most games by Gamevil. They're really well done and feel extremely polished. They have paid versions for $5 but all games also have free versions. edit: Just wanted to say also that I personally have the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate and that it is a kick ass phone. Good choice and android ftw! :D

appbrain fx camera handcent (has good popup notification for text so u can text in games and not ahve to back out) dolphin browser (it has tabs) instant heartrate (pretty cool, can meausre ur heart rate) word reference (if you speak a diff lang in school and need quick translations) fruit ninja, robodefense, and angry birds are solid games. ROOT your phone if you can. try at least. it's worth it. you c an tether your phone and use it as a internet source and get almost 1.5 mbps which is enough to play games without lagging as long as you have full 3g bars. you'll love your smart phone, galaxy is a solid phone.

Alarm Clock Plus - Awesome alarm app and it has a math mode, essentially you have to solve a math problem before it allows you snooze or dismiss the alarm. Gets me up better than just constantly mashing the snooze =P SoundHound - Obligatory music identifier app, found it better than Shazam? I think it was called that. Doodle Jump (I think this one is paid... Can't remember) - Simple and ridiculously addictive.. SwiFTP - Allows you to create an FTP server on your phone so you can transfer files wirelessly instead of having to use cables. MSNTalkPro (Paid but well you know the internet =P) - Great MSN application. PowerAMP (Paid *cough*) - Great music player and you can use a last.fm scrobbler in conjunction. Fancy Widget (Free or Paid) - My favourite widget, i think it looks better than beautiful widget and its free to boot! (Weather isn't terribly accurate but good enough). Also its really good to fully modify your phone, my quadrant scores on the Galaxy S I9000 almost rival a stock Nexus S (though apparently quadrant isn't exactly the best benchmark). I'm using Darky's ROM but for you i'd just look around on http://forum.xda-developers.com. Best forum for customising your android phone.

- Starcraft Sounboard: Good for annoying/entertaining people - HistoryEraser: Good for.. yeah that. - SwiFTP FTP Server: Allows you to run an FTP server on your phone. This means you can copy to and from your phone via WiFi without having to plug it in or turn on memory card access. - Color Flashlight (+1): Finding keys etc is a pain in the ass without it. - uPnPlay: Connect to windows media center or any upnp based media server (foobar). Lets you stream or copy music/videos/pictures. Not the best interface but it gets the job done. Super handy.

or Afreeca (korea livestreaming programme, and watch players like 1a2a3a[fou] or other koreans playing sc2 on FPVOD) there's the TL app and the SC2Casts app as well (you can just search it here in TL forums) AndroIRC for mIRC, Ventriloid for Ventrilo.. and for games, i only have Angry Birds and Tank Hero.. you might wanna try them.. edit: if you need good voice recording, i suggest getting the paid app of TapeMachine.. It records in .wav format and really good quality..

As for the Dolphin browser with tabs I would love that but the problem is it comes with a Browser on a lower Dock bar and I can't (or havent yet figured out how to) change it so I don't want a useless button on there. I may end up rooting it since I work at best buy and have a service plan on the phone and all I gotta do is reset to factory firmware before swapping the broken phone (if ever it breaks) and its still covered under the best buy warranty. The TL app is quite cool though I am finding I need to program a lot of starcraft related words into it

Swype - Honestly...its awesome. The amount of average mistakes made while typing goes down so much, bigger words come out easier than smaller words. Faster (beat my friend on iphone when he's owned it for 2 years and i've only had my android for a week). And its just a lot funner. Swooping your finger around lol RealCalc - Duno if you still have a need for trigonometric and logirithimic functions on the go but if you do, this app is nice. EStask manager - I prefer this over advanced task killer Astro File manager - Reads SD cards in an explorer type format. Automatic task manager - another one to close select applications whenever putting the phone to standby/sleep. AKnotes - my favorite note taking app. others are a little bloated To do widget - Mine came with HTC sense so thats one of the default widgets, 10 pages, checkmarks, editable and lightweight.
