As the title says this is about the 2nd groupstage.
Do not read this if you want to get spoilered about 2nd groupstage.

After finding out how they make the groups for this I was severely shocked to see the players of each group.

Let me first up put up the groups:

Group A
IMNesTea
SlayerSBoxeR
oGsZenio
TSL_Trickster (Tester/sSKS)

Group B
IMMVP
ChoyafOu
TheBestfOu
oGsHyperDub

Group C
NsPGenius
Winner group G
oGsNaDa
Runner up group H

Group D
MC
Winner group H
ST_Rainbow
Runner up group G

I've watched BW groups and don't know how they make those groups but this is just sad and heartbreaking for me when I look at Group A.

I'm a big fan of Tester and who doesn't love Boxer.
Then you get Zenio and NesTea arguably one of the best/better Zerg players in the world.

Also feel sad for the Zerg players because there are only 2 Zerg players in the ro16 so far and only 2 more can make it through and the current 2 zerg in the ro16 immediately face off 1st match in 2nd groupstage :/

Boxer vs Tester is just OMFGWTF mind blowing...
This should be such a nice match to see.
We've only seen Boxer's TvT and TvZ 2 days ago.

Group B seems like it's IMMVP's free road to ro8 but the Choya effect is a force to be reckoned with. All good players play bad vs Choya (except Jinro lol).

I can't help but wonder that if Jinro/IdrA make it to ro16 they are going to be put in an even more hectic group.

They can end up with 3 of the following people RainBow/Leenock/Genius/Clide/MarineKing/NaDa/MC/InCa which are the heavy contenders to make it to the 2nd groupstage.

Has groupstage in BW ever been hectic like that or is it just mind blowing for me? Anyways off to watch GSL gogo ret!

I don't really follow SCII much but I have watched games from players of Group A. If this were put in MSL terms, this would definitely be a group of death. Sucks to have elimination at this point between four players that could go far.

Is this confirmed? They don't draw lots again for the 2nd group stage?

It's confirmed. Gom already has these groups up on their schedule for week 2: http://www.gomtv.net/2011gslsponsors1/schedule/

Haha oh wow MVP gets Choya again? Choya is like his nemesis right now rofl >_>

Group A is absolutely stacked, group B is going to be really awkward.

Ah well, I think they'll both provide pretty entertaining play

Actually, unlike you, I think that group B has a very high probability of causing mvp an upset. And, there are 3 remaining zergs on the field, not 2:

1- Leenock
2- CheckPrime
3- IdrA

But, yes. You're right, code S isn't going too good for zergs so far. I hope it changes soon.

Zenio and NesTea are my favorite 2 players, I hope they go out of this group together (sorry BoxeR or Tester fans).

does anyone actually have an idea if MVP has good tvp? that's what i want to know, seen some great tvz, but this group doesnt have any, and while hyperdub and thebest might not be of the same caliber, they both play unconventional which is hard to prepare for

Well I watch OSL/SPL/MSL just because it's very entertaining to watch. But I don't know how the groupstages are actually determined (except for MSL).

Ah yeah 3 zergs. I forgot about Check. Just did it out of my head quickly

And I'm a Boxer AND Tester fan TT Guess we're not going to be friends

Only Protoss I remember MVP has played against is vs Choya which he lost to in GSL Open 3.
His TvT is shaky compared to his TvZ but still strong in my opinion.

I think it's probably his worst match up, that or Choya really is just the bogeyman since he's got multiple wins over him recently. Even if he does happen to drop the match vs Choya (which I don't think he will this time), I'd fancy his mechanics to just be too good for hyperdub and thebest regardless of what they throw at him.

This,

Mvp's TvT isn't the greatest considering his ladder ranking and all. His TvP thus far is also lackluster. Seems Mvp is Great at one match-up but shaky in the other two.

I still can't see him losing more than once in this group. On paper, he's so much more skilled than these guys.

the problem with using past performance to judge future TvP results is that protoss play is evolving rather rapidly. nobody has the optimal system quite set up yet, and nobody has the optimal response system either. when and if the competitive scene settles on a stable system, a player like mvp would show much better results because he executes better.

his advanced progaming training in sc1 certainly helps him in preparing against a variety of builds and playstyles. i suspect that he'll undergo some special training versus protoss, like he did vs zerg after losing to zenio.

The groups are so stacked!
Almost every one of them is such a huge contender to making it to the finals and win it.
It's even worse than what we saw today in Code S :O

I can't decide who to cheer for :O I'm quite a fan of so many players that made it to ro16.

Updated groups in OP.
