So in early release because I had beta I did ok as random. Without much BO stuff. Copying builds. Winning as terran, sometimes as toss, and losing as zergie. Then I got demoted. qq
Then I heard some podcast talking about race choosing and about how it's ridiculously difficult to be proficient at everything
Finally, upon deciding upon protoss because
1) NoNy/Tyler is awesome
2) Incontrol is awesome
3) HuK is awesome
4) Response is awesome
5) It's cool
I went to work. Started opening with standard builds. 1 gate fe against terran, and four gate against toss lol. And some sort of undefined build vs zerg 
Then along came FragKrag who helped me with all three builds.
So I've only played games when my parents haven't been watching, but I've played a fair few in the last three days. And with qutie a lot of help from FragKrag, I went from playing people in gold league, to people that are around 2k diamond. Still, a day passed and even though my record was going batshit crazy (11-3) I still wouldnt' get promoted. I lost a game, then won a game, and then...

I'm quite excited now. Special thanks to FragKrag, Day9 for epic dailies, a zerg that fragkrag got stomped by but at least let me copy a protoss build order, vile gaming for letting me watch some practice games, and incontrol for his coaching vods. (and for tolerating my qqing in blogs)

Congrats! Getting into Diamond was one of my happiest days XD I had been waiting forever to get there and it just never seemed to happen. I remember even going on a 12 game win streak, each time expecting that the next game would surely move me up, but it never came.
I like your quote by the way  . If only more people listened to that.

Yes I would. Let me get it in one sec. I screenshotted before promotion, and i haven't played since.
2330 before, but not 100% sure. Darned close to that though.

A couple games before. I didn't realize this. I lost one, won one. I think it was -13+13.

Well that's okay, we can use your match history, we just need a starting point from the screenshot.

OK. It is in fact not 2330. It went -12 and then +12 when I promoted. SO I would actually imagine it's 2330-12 = 2318 before.
Pretty damn sure.
2318 before, and 2176 exact after.
