Every time I see a thread about music or I watch a stream, the overwhelming majority of music mentioned falls into some category of electronic music.
This perceived correlation has piqued my interest, and I'd like to ask this:

IMPORTANT! If you listen to electronic music (whether you listen while playing or not), please explain why if you know! I realize that it's hard to know why you like a certain type of music, but if you could even venture a guess, it would be quite helpful. Thanks!
I listen to Trance and some other strange types of electronic music (the weekly electronic mix series has been a godsend). I also listen to metal, although there haven't been very many interesting new metal bands these days while the trance/electronica scene keeps coming up with gold.
I listen to all types of Electronic Music while playing Sc2 and BW. Mostly trance because its awesome. I also listen to rock and stuff. I listen to all types of music except for Metal and Electronic is my favorite genre by far.
Hell yeah showtek!! Takes me back to my raving days. Maybe ill start listeneing to techno again and hopefully it can get me out of the gold league bahaha.
I listen to DnB mostly, gives a nice rythym when you are playing. The same goes for trance, which I listen to occasionally, but house/proghouse/minimal techno are too downtempo really. I listen to those styles as well, but I obviously make a choice to listen to DnB when playing SC.
Just keep in mind that you made the title "Starcraft and Techno", so the majority of people reading the thread are interested in those two things. There are of course the outlier "I read every single thread because I'm bored" TLers, but I think you understand what I'm getting at (Survey Accuracy).

Yeah that's why I'm now asking why people listen to it. I started just by indulging in a curiosity but now I'm interested in pursuing it further. This is just the beginning LD
I like to listen to electronic music because I feel that it is easier to keep a rhythm with it. That, and its easier for me to concentrate with electronic music because there are no lyrics for me to get side-tracked by(I have this annoying habit of singing any lyrics I'm familiar with, even if I hardly know the lyrics).
I'm pretty sure those are the reasons why I listen to electronic music more often when playing SC2. I do listen to other stuff sometimes too, but 80% of the time when I do, I play terribly.
