I just... when someone starts being a dick completely unprovoked, I just.. I don't get it. What goes through these people's heads that makes them think that that would be a good idea, or at all constructive? Like if you're winning, what would possess you to start being an ass about it? I just don't get it. It absolutely baffles me. Do they think they're doing you some kind of favor? Or are they really so self-serving that they'd risk damaging someone else's self-esteem just to get a cheap laugh? I mean, obviously if some random BM in a video game damages your self-esteem, you probably need to work on being more secure, but the BM-er certainly isn't considering that. I just... Yeah. I just don't get why people have to be dicks. And to answer another question that's been raised a couple of times: it's not the things people say. Using specific words isn't what makes BM; it's the offensive intent. Someone is TRYING to be a dick to you. They are intentionally trying to attack you, be it emotionally or psychologically. Malicious intent is offensive because it's intended to be offensive. It's not about what they say at all. It's just that they're being assholes. | ||

Worse, when people are so clueless they don't know how behind they are. Even worse, when people call me a hacker a minute into the game and persist all game long. Obviously, after game they usually turn out to be cheating themselves (like 90% of them). When people join the game and leave on count down. Or ask max rank and leave. Or pause for longer than a minute. Or drop hack. The worst - map spoofs in obs games and scv gas stack allins. Many, many things can piss me off. | ||

"yeah ok" "you'll see "He goes for a cannon rush which I completely ignore, I just build away from the cannons and put down a nexus in my second nat and start pressuring with stalkers. I get a bunch of probe kills and my 4 gate kicks in but I can't attack him head on because he has a couple of cannons by his nexus. Then naturally he's transitioned into dt and I don't really have time to react despite having a vastly superior army/economy. Then I gg and he says "see what did I tell you" and he continues messaging me after the game even though I'm clearly not interested in talking. Something very annoying about that, especially considering how close the game was. T_T But the generic "fu noob mh user" never bothered me much. | ||

If I'm offensive GG'd I'll sometimes instruct the gg'er that the loser GG's first, not the winner - if they think that I believe they're an idiot, it would probably annoy them ... but it's not as satisfying for me. I still think the best way to deal with any kind of BM is to snap off a witty one-liner then put them on ignore. | ||

In my experience there is a lot of Teamliquiders who don't have the same morality as BW players did. You'd always gg, and it was a rare occurrence on ICCup for people to not GG. The only exception was in the D ranks. The less skilled people are, the less they care about gaming etiquette. Anyone who climbed from D to -> C to -> B could agree with that. But anyways, I digress, I just find it dumb that people hate offensive GG but won't even GG themselves. Kind of makes the offensive GG in my eyes worth it - I actually do it against people who I know don't GG. What are they complaining for then? Why would it piss them off? | ||

People that talk to me after the game, after they won also bug the hell out of me. I had a person actually commentate the replay to me through chat, saying like "You should have had another Gateway. WHOA DUDE. QUEUED 3 PROBES, HUGE MACRO ERROR." | ||
