Most people probably expect a whine thread/imbalance thread, but actually, quite the opposite is the case.
As this is the last week of my school before Christmas, I decided that I would only and only 4 gate till the end of this week. I'm a 2500~ diamond terran who wanted to try how easy it is.
It's. So. Easy. I make like 10 mistakes in my first game and I still roflstomp some zerg.
So anyway, so far I'm 4-1, I'll update this blog as I play more. :D!

Ok I'm done for today, I found that zergs were the easiest to 4 gate, protosses obviously had experience dealing with it so that was a bit tough and against terran it depended on my army composition. You actually learn a lot by 4 gating, it surprised me. Even if people scout it I could win and lose depending on how I engage, where I engage, zealots in front? Force fields? There are a lot of variables that I never thought of. I would definetly advise people who never tried 4 gating, I feel like I've learned a lot more than I would do if I just played normally.

I hate how every protoss is like "once i hit X rating and good zergs learn how to defend a 4 gate" as if a 4 gate was this build that didn't depend on player skill and was just stopped at high skill levels. No, there are 19 probe 4 gates and 30 probe 4 gate which can expo and punish turtle play and we're talking a range of attack timings from about 6 to 8 minutes game time. It's extremely powerful and a variety of versions should be practiced for every protoss' repertoire
That said, its not particularly hard, compared to how hard it is to defend..

There is a big difference between a race being easy and a race being imbalanced. (or strategy, for that matter)
