I have a couple in my apartment room now, it's fairly addicting since we get free printing at my school =D
i'm not sure if i'm going to keep the chicago one though, i don't think it looks that great (different picture, or if it were bigger perhaps)
the program is called the rasterbator, it's fairly easy to use and free. i recommend it as a great way to cheaply make your room more..roomy. find a high resolution image and it will blow it up into dots of your size preference. simple black and white pictures are always a good choice.
so you could use huge dots and the image would look clear from far away, but as you step closer it becomes more pixelated which is really cool. you don't have to do the grid layout with the gaps either if you don't like the look.
i'd link the site but it may be down right now? not sure. i'm sure most people already know about this =D

Thanks for reminding me about this, I saw it some time ago and forgot how cool it looks.

Thats a very misleading title you got there. I thought you just misspelled.
Anyways, looks cool. I'l try it with a picture and get back to you.

Huh. I might do this, my room is completely blank. I have no decorations or anything on my walls.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention

I have a quick question. How good does it look with just standard copy/printer paper? Is it better to use a glossier photo type paper or to laminate it or something?

This is actually pretty cool and I might have to try it out. My living room is lacking... everything.

it looks fine with standard computer paper (using laser printing). but if you really want it to look nice i recommend getting nicer paper and having the printing done at kinkos or somewhere. because most printers automatically print out a little bit of white margin that you have a cut -- it can look kind of shitty after doing it all by hand.
