So just a few minutes ago I was on sc2, playing a few warmup games for my csl match tonight. My team is overall pretty decent with a 2k zerg, myself, and several 1600ish players.
So a message pops up and it is a random korean kid asking to join the CSL team. I'm like, sweet a 1900zerg. He says he plays with a group of 5 korean friends and they are all around 2000! And their best player is 2200. At this point I just chuckle. So my advice to all coordinators if you haven't done so. Go to the korean club at your school and just shout out STARCRAFT 2. There is going to be a group of decent players somewhere in there.

Yeah for some reason koreans are hard to find T_T.

its hella hard to find good koreans at my school, if any. the ones i know are business majors and theyre prolly not gona be interested in sc2 or even have the time to practice and play in a league.

Fragkrag,The UCSB LAN last quarter didn't have any good players (or koreans) at it, in fact, I was one of the best players I saw there and I am not good at all.

Our school has not approached the Korean student society yet, if we do, our white people may never get to play again =( Gj getting Koreans tho!

Time for CSL Recruiting and a CSL Scholarship :D

I'm the only Korean on my team. Otherwise we have lots of Chinese, 1 Vietnamese and a couple extras.
edit: Oh also just wanted to note. I'm Korean American, not Korean. If you think about it, if a Korean is studying at an America/Canadian school, that's probably because they got there working hard studying. This also means that they probably don't play that many games :-p.

I'm glad you had such good luck recruiting Korean students for your team! I think sometimes the ease of pulling in really good ethnically Korean players depends on the school - at my college the Korean Association (which I was a casual member of) seemed to be way too busy doing more grown up things to play on our CSL team. I think this was because video games are still considered "kids' stuff" by the older generation in Korea and even some of our generation, and the Koreans at my college were more influenced by this line of thought. More power to your CSL team .
