An excerpt from my facebook status that I wrote in a few minutes following finally getting on my computer after the world series. I might expand on it more another day if anybody gave more than 1 shit, but for now I'll post what I wrote on facebook:
I've been thinking for like an hour on what to say but man, you alwyas hear post game interviews and they always say "i'm speechless" and thats just how I feel.
I remember going to games at candlestick when i was like 7 years old, me and my brother wore our gloves even from the upper deck, he doesn't even care about sports but I know that every once in a while he shows that he's got interest. I remember him watching me watch armando benitez suck it up game after game. I remember 2002 game 6 when dusty baker took out russ ortiz and we ended up losing in 7. I remember each and every one of bonds's 73 home runs. I realized that the only person from that 2002 team on the giants is like...Dave Righetti, Ron Wotus, and Brian Sabean.
I've never had my team win it all, I'm a niners, sharks, warriors, cal football/basketball and UCLA basketball fan. Championships since 1995 add up to a collective 0. No matter which team i'm watching, the giants have always been my first passion in sports. They're the first time I could say thats MY hometown team. If I could only pick one team from the last 15 years of my life it was the giants. They're a reason my favorite color is orange, they're a reason I love norcal forever.
I don't know what else to say guys, I'm speechless.
Giants win everyone, giants fucking win.

I remember going to see the 1991 World Series (Braves v Twins).
It was a very thrilling experience indeed but since then I have come to understand that professional sports and all that comes with it to be superfluous, excessive, and over-all detrimental to society.

This win salves the pain I'm currently feeling from the niners season. So happy the city finally got a win :D

Trust me I wish I could have been there in SF last night. Unfortunately I have been proxy'd over in the east coast for the last 6 years.
I left my heart in San Francisco though.
