I'd like to share with fellow TLers the absurdity that just happened. So let me retell the tale of old wise.
Lets start at 9:00 PM my time, it is now 3:38 AM. I am a somewhat popular electronic artist and I was writing dance all day today. A friend brought his girlfriend and her friend to my house, they were drunk. My roommate was here also. So we are all just chillin' and like fifteen more people show up. I happen to be writing dance on my studio monitors and everybody gets in the mood to dance. I turn on some BT, and suddenly; there is a dance party in my studio. It was pretty epic, not gonna lie! So everything tapers out and a girl stays here I haven't met before. She liked the same music as I do which is really hard to come across, so we start talking and decide to go on a cruise throughout my city.
It is now 1:45 AM. I fill my gas tank up and we cruise off into the darkness in my '91 convertible Mustang. Around 2:45, I got pulled over for the first time in my entire life, for nothing the first time. Here's where the night gets REALLY fun...
Officer, "What are you two doing out so late?"
Me, "We are driving, listening to music."
Officer, "That's it? Just driving? Who does that?"
Me, "With all due respect officer, we are."
Officer, "Alright, can I have license and registra-.." The Cop then proceeds to grab for his sidearm and tells me to get out of the car.
Me, "Okay, what is it?"
Officer, "You have a gun in your backseat."
Me, "That's an empty airsoft gun that I bought at the Covered Bridge Festival for about $10." the officer then calms the fuck down.
Anyways, after owning my cornea's with the cherries and berries, he gets back out of the car sprints at me, throws me my I.D. and registration, and yells, "Sorry buddy, we have more important things to deal with, we were just going to give you a warning anyways."
At this point, the girl and I are completely cheesing and laughing our asses off. I drive for a few more blocks and get hit with, once again, the cherries and berries.
Different cop. He get's out of the car after pulling me over and says, "Oh, sorry, I just heard you got pulled over about a minute ago. Airsoft right?" We exchange words and I'm on my way.
About ten minutes later, I am still just cruising, dancing and talking. I get hit with once again, the cherries and berries. This officer gets out, says, "Look Sir, We've given you two warnings already, go home and park your car. We don't give warnings for nothing." I am speechless because they never actually gave me a warning for anything.
Nothing is wrong with my car, I was actually going 2mph under the speed limit. That's my cruise speed. No headlights, tail lights, break lights are out, no obnoxiously loud music, or anything. I am so confused. So I figured I'd share my interesting night.
Now I'm just sitting here laughing.. 3 pull overs in less then 15 minutes. It has to be a new world record.

cops in USA are pretty wierdos... my friend is a cop and he is a nice guy but he told me some stories about his collages and they are same its bad when cops are here for fun...

just out of curiosity, what city/state are you in?? lucky you weren't doing anything illegal :D but really, if you wanna drive around late at night you should absolutely be able to...

I just had something similar happen, but without the "cherries and berries", just NARC agents randomly parked in random areas and, me being the weirdo that I am, I actually park my truck next to these guys and the moment I'm about to lower my window to ask them wtf they're doing, the guy picks up a phone, says something into it, puts it down and leaves the spot.
I then parked in the same spot as the NARC agent, waiting for him to come back. Instead, a cop comes back and parks next to me. I lower my window and he lowers his window and I say "hello bureaucrat" and he looks back at me and says "hello, may I ask what you're doing?" and, since it's a marked vehicle, they are already presenting their authority so I tell them "well, I thought this creepy stalker was watching people from this spot, so I parked right next to him to ask what he was doing and he left, so if he was a cop, or a creepy stalker, then how come I can't exercise my right to observe police activity as an American citizen under your rules and jurisdiction?"
The cop literally stares at me for a good while and just asks "what did you take today, sir?" I tell him "is that the first thing that comes to your mind sir, drug use? Just because I am concerned about the safety of my kids and neighbors, you think I'm on drugs?"
The cop just had this ugly, twisted look on his face... but he replied "you don't have to do that sir. That's why we're here."
I just say "okay." He leaves.
edit: also happened when I took photos of a bunch of marked police vehicles at my college. Two pigs come out of the building and present themselves as cops, show their badge, and ask me what I'm doing taking photos of their vehicles. I tell him that "bureaucratic vehicles interest me, and that since they're government funded, they are just beautiful to look at and very intimidating, I wanted to capture that in my photos."
one of them asks for my I.D., looks at me, looks at the I.D., hands it back and just says "stop doing this mr. [my last name]"
wtf.

Yeah, 19, and I didn't even know the airsoft gun was back there and the cop started flipping out. It had an orange tip and everything.
