Hopefully I don't have to choose between posting this in the Anime topic or on My Blog. I just think it's such a good opening and really geeked out from watching it.
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Opening 5: "Road to Tomorrow ~Going My Way!!~" by Masaaki Endoh
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Ending 5: "Future Colors" by Plastic Tree
Wow, song-wise, I prefer Believe in Nexus (Fourth Opening), but animation-wise, this opening blows all the other YGO openings out of the water. Last part of the opening was just ****ing amazing.
Thoughts on the Ending: YuseixAki shippers win!
But yeah, with 154 rumored to be the last episode of 5D's, this could potentially be the last opening of the series. With that, I can say I'd be satisfied with this opening as being the last. This opening would work with the "Last opening is the best" pattern YGO has going on.
In the opening shot, I count:
Elemental Hero Magma Neos Chaos Soldier (Black Luster Soldier) Junk Warrior Chaos Emperor Dragon Ally of Justice - Catastor Black Magician of Chaos (Dark Magician of Chaos) Trishula - Dragon of the Ice Barrier Blue-Eyes White Dragon Demise - King of Armageddon Dragon Knight Gaia (Gaia the Dragon Champion) Android Psycho Shocker (Jinzo) Red-Eyes Black Dragon Elemental Hero Neos Black Magician (Dark Magician) Brionac - Dragon of the Ice Barrier Sacrifice (Relinquished) Elemental Hero - Shining Flare Wingman Kuriboh
Pretty much most of the iconic cards of the series (along with some staple Synchros of the current Meta).
YGO are awesome, but i didnt like the opening. English > japanese openings unless its a calm song
I remember playing the card game all the time with my cousin for hours but i wasnt a too big fan of the series (i did enjoy it initially, but got bored.).
What about that huge monster that you needed to collect like a shit load of different cards to piece together? That thing was pretty amazing.. I'm not going to lie, when I was younger I loved the origional YuGiOh and the card game.

I watched the original when i was 14(?) and played the game a little but quickly drifted away, whatever happened the Yugi, I watched one of the newer episodes and he's no where to be seen.

He showed up at the very beginning and very end of GX. The stories of each series is different from each other. They may be connected in some ways, but they stand alone and can be thought of as being independent from one another. 5Ds is way better than original anyway. The only people that disagree are people that haven't seen 5Ds
The thing I don't like about the series anymore is that they seem to have thrown away Aki and the twins, who seemed to be very prominent before the WRGP arc, going head-to-head with the dark signers and actually playing a role. Since their dark signers duel, what have they done? Aki got her ass kicked but managed to summon Stardust. She hasn't had a chance to redeem herself. The twins got their ass kicked in that skateboarding duel and I don't expect them to earn their dignity back (too young for motorcycles, lol). I expected all five signers to be significant characters, but nah, it seems this arc only has room for Yusei, Crow and Jack (but mostly Yusei)
I really hope Aki and the twins do something before the series ends. Ruka vs. monkey (Demak was it?) was my fav. duel in the entire series
Anyone think that the Phoenix voice sounds a lot like Yugi in nonsuperdeepvoice battlemode? The first time I heard the Phoenix I was like what the fuck, why is yugi flying this thing
Japanese: Hashire! Asu he Tsudzuku Shinka no Michi ha Aratana Densetsu no Dyueru Yari Kirenai kono Omoi Subete Furikitte Kanousei ha Mugendai Subete Tokihanate Hajimari haitsudatte Kimi Shidai Dare mo ga Kimayou Hikari wo Oi Motome Hakanai Yume Miushinai sousa Kizuna tsunage Keshite Makehashinai (Growing!! English: Run! The path of evolution that connects to the future Is in a new legendary duel The feelings of indecision, shake them all off The possibilities are infinite, set them all free The beginning is always dependent on you Everyone is wandering about, pursue the light It looks like you've lost sight of the fleeting dream The bonds that connect us will definitely never lose (Growing!! Go my way!!) Become the wind(hurricane), dance, and tear the darkness apart Even if you can't see the place you're struggling towards now Start running, with those legs, there's nothing to be afraid of On this path towards the future Going my way!! Cut open a path and go!
And just found the Ending: Japanese: Hatenaki Sekai naraba kono Mune ni ha Akashi wo Onaji Namidanuretara Bokura Waraiaou Toki Hanattetta Genjitsu de kizamu Kodou ni Fureezu wo Kyoumei shiteku Kokoro ni Oto wo tatete Saku Namae no nai Hana Osoroi no Ibasho Bokura Mitsukeru Yume miruyou ni Mezamete Mirai madette Nodashita Te Omoi tsuiteku Iro de Kurayami datte nurikaenagara Kioku KIZUNA Kibou to Kasanetara Mirai Iro zutto Bokura haegaiteku
English: If this world is endless, prove it to this chest If we're being wettened by the same tears, then let's just laugh Phrase the reality you've released with a chopped-up beat。 A nameless flower blooms with a sound to resonating hearts We've found the whereabouts of that dread Waking up as if from a dream, with a hand stretched out towards the future Grab it Release it Search for it in this repetition While you repaint even the pitch-blackness with the color you're thinking of Gathering together memories bonds hope The colors of the future are always being drawn by us
Man, I hated BELIEVE IN NEXUS; didn't like the vocalists at all. I guess this OP is somewhat better. And 154 the last episode of the entire series? Are you sure it isn't just the end of the arc? Makes me sad that they'd end it so soon, seeing as every other YGO anime had like 12123412 episodes in it.
Also, what is with Sailor Moon Transformation Sherry?
