EPTI hit .500 several times this week but unfortunately I’ve yet to break it. However I’ve noticed that my play is beginning to get consistent. I’ve started to home in on two builds, 3 gate robo and the forge FE. I’ve been watching replays and I realize that I’ve got the basics of these builds down so now I need to work on my timings.
Actually I’ve had a couple revelations about general play in the last week or so. For instance the closer I follow a set build the easier it is to win. Following a build gives me confidence about what should happen next and generally allows me to play calmer. Another thing I’ve noticed is the importance of constant probe production, I know you’re all saying “no shit moron that’s pretty basic” but this was illustrated to me in a couple games where my army was decimated but I ended up winning because I could out produce my opponent. Between watching BW replays of the Sauron Rock and watching Day9 I’ve had an epiphany about probe count, before this I was making 30-35 probes per game but now I make upwards of 65 probes in some games. Those are pretty basic things but when I obey them and I win it really drives home why they’re important.
I don’t have much else to say on the subject of sc2, I think in the future I’ll include some replays of myself so people will know how seriously to take me
.Now just a bit of actual blog material. The Chuck premier was a lot better than in previous seasons which gives me hope that this season will be really good. Because of the constant threat of cancellation the writers have done some really wacky things to try and end the series on a high note only to learn it’s been renewed. I hope they get it right and have a smooth season for once because it’s the only show on TV I actually bother to watch now that Lost is gone.
The first week of community college went well, the work is not too difficult but there’s a lot of it. I showed my dad some old BW clips of Korean announcers, I think we watched the one where a tank line gets stormed to shit and one where Bisu mismicroes a shuttle and of course PLAYGUUUUUUUUU. He loved it and wanted to see some WOW moments like that in sc2… I didn’t really know what to tell him. He likes watching starcraft in short sessions; he actually watched the HDH finals and the WCG 2007 finals with me…
Anyway I don’t have much else to say, I’m really pissed that none of my NFL teams are having a good season (49ers 0-3 WTF?) and I need to eat dinner so this will be all for now. I’ll try and be back next week.
