For all those wondering what "Glial Reconstitution" is about:
it's GLEE-UHL. Here's merriam-webster to say it: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/glial
I happen to be in the neurosciences. Glial cells are cells in the nervous system that participate in many brain functions, but are generally considered "support" cells for neurons and aren't thought to participate much in information processing (although some hypothesize that they do).
Now, what the hell that has to do with roach movement speed I don't know. Glial cells don't really have anything to do with muscles, other than maybe insulating the neurons that would trigger muscle contraction.
Just getting tired of all the casters mispronouncing it.

Wow, I always thought it was gilial, not glial.
|
i don't see how a metabolic boost would give a zergling wings either
|
It only has to sound cool and look cool. Doesn't have to make sense

RED BULL GIVES YOU WIIIIIIIINGS... and a metabolic boost to boot.
A lot of the upgrades have nonsensical names. For example Marine's U-238 Shells in BW increase the range of marines... but in reality U-238 is so heavy that it would decrease your range and increase your damage.
|
What. how were you guys pronouncing it the whole time?
|
GLEE-UHL was what i was taught the first time.

Well, assuming the uranium shells are heavier, perhaps a larger charge could be used to impart the same forward speed, and therefore, increasing momentum, allowing it to reach a further distance. and I guess damage is based on projectile shape....
And I love the relevancy of your username haha

Not really, It just depends on the charge driving the bullet, If you accelerate the depleted uranium to the same speed as the non uranium round you will have slightly increased range due to the larger mass to air resistance ratio of the denser bullet.
Its like launching a paper ball vs a BB out of a straw.

When I was working on Xenosaga 2, one of the voice actresses had to pronounce the word "glial", but she messed it up and said "glillial". Well, that voice actress was too expensive to call in and re-record the line, so Xenosaga being a futuristic game, the localization team decided to capitalize her pronunciation to make it a proper noun. So the line became "We've been giving her Glilial supplements..." and if anyone asks, I suppose there's a Dr. Glilial out there and those supplements are named after him.

"glee-uhl" for me from the start... WOOT I feel accomplished

True. Seems like it would just make them digest food faster...

I've always called it roach speed. XD. I know the proper pronunciation of Glial though!
Speaking of Metabolic Boost...How do you pronounce that? I've always said Metabolic like Metabolism but "ic" instead of "ism"
I know a lot of people call it Meta-Ball-lick (rofl) instead of how I say it. the "ta" being a TAAH instead of a TAW
