I always end up playing 2v2 because it's more "arcadey" and I don't really care. Before SC2 was released, I played SC:BW "seriously" in that I tried really hard to get better and every episode of Day9 interested me because the game seemed to have an infinite amount of depth. I also had games like CS1.6 and BC2 as light entertainment on the side to prevent my brain from overheating. These days, I'm sad because I don't play a game that I truly care about anymore. I'm still playing it and I hope I'll learn to like it, but right now, winning a 1v1 is as satisfying as a lucky headshot in BC2. Makes me go "oh ok". PS: I play at at roughly Diamond 1200, so nothing overly impressive but then again I barely play. | ||

And also, playing SC2 with friends makes it alot of fun too. Just throwing it out there for people saying its "dull because I can never win." | ||

I agree I was pretty frustrated with SC/SC2 when the beta came to an end but since I actually started playing the release somewhat seriously it's been really fun. | ||

I came to SC for hopes of a game where balance was not an issue whatsoever and it was all about raw skill etc. I came to SC during the SC2 beta and didn't know enough to worry. Then in the down-time I got into bw in a big way and it was (and is) such a joy to watch and, when I man up enough to hit iccup, play. Watching SC2 from a more informed perspective now, I find that the imbalances and issues just drain the game of much of the joy that I feel in brood war. I came to starcraft from a background of largely WoW, where (PvP was funto an extent, but pretty horrendously imbalanced) and HoN (still pretty freaking imbalanced); when the post-game chat is always along the lines of "player X nearly won but player Y played T" or "X and Y are a great arena team but they lost cos they weren't a warrior/druid combo" just really gets me down. SC2 is not a bad game, hell it's better than pretty much everything other than bw in my opinion, but it is currently disheartening for me to watch and play. p.s. It's not all bad though, July and NaDa should be able to mix things up a bit at least :p | ||
