EPTOkay now that I've defended myself from any potential flames headed my way I'll actually do some blogging. First a little background, I joined TL about 5 months ago but I've lurked for about a year before that. I finally joined because I wanted to get in before the influx of sc2 noobs. Now a bit about my gaming background. The first real game I got was Age of Empires II and it's expansion pack, I was absolutely enthralled with that game even though I was never very good, it's still what I play when I want a break from Starcraft. Then AoE III came out and I got it and promptly had my enthusiasm for gaming killed. I played it online a bit but I hated that game and what it did to the franchise. Just in time to save me from my despair comes my friend who introduced me to Red Alert 2 and it's expansion Yuri's revenge. Now I was actually really good at those games and played them for a while. Eventually my friends who I played AoE II with got me into Sc1, now this part is long so I'm gonna make a new paragraph.
Before I got into sc1 I went on YouTube just to check and see if anyone had posted a game or two... I still remember my shock at the literally millions of results. Feeling overwhelmed I picked one that read "Stork V Jeadong finals". I am not lying to you, the first sc1 game I watched was the WCG finals in china. Needless to say I was hooked. I got the game a day or two after this and quickly became better than my friends. About this time I remember my friends were talking about thus huge sequel that as due out soon and this really exclusive beta. Curious I again went to YouTube, I found and watched the first unveiling and the battle reports (terrible terrible damage lol). Ironically I recognized the unveiling video as something I has seen at frys one day. I could feel the stars were aligned, to many coincidences. I became obsessed with getting into the beta, I watched every single HD and husky video I could, I even found TL although at the time it was to serious for me. Then gamestop came out with their beta deal... It was if the heavens had opened up. This is getting lengthy, new paragraph.
So now thanks to gamestop I was in the beta! Blasting through my placement matches I quickly made it to... copper. I inevitably began to ask my self "why do I lose" and when a noob asks that question, all roads lead to TL. What had previously been to serious now became just right.
So here we are at the present, thanks to TL and liquipedia I made it into bronze during beta and now silver during the release. So for me it's time to give back, advancing an entire league is definitely 30 minutes a week to keep up a blog as well as keeping up
This blog will be about just about everything however I will make some public goals and keep TL posted on their progress:
Make it into gold league
Win a round in a tournament (byes don't count)
Get my Zealot icon
Help make minor edits (grammatical etc) to liquipedia
Now for those of you who are still reading I'll post a bit of personal stuff at the end. I started community college today so one of my IRL goals is to get straight As. I was mowing a field yesterday and got stung three times by wasps FUCK it hurt and now my arm is swollen. I'm in a Christmas production and I just got my parts, everything I wanted thankfully.
Anyway this was a whole lot longer than I intended, if you read it all props to you. I promise they won't be this long in the future. I'll try and keep this updated at least once a week.
