So basically it happened at around 10:05 in the morning. I was going out to meet some of my friends for a gathering when a guy out of nowhere blatantly knocked me off my feet and acted like he didn't mean it. Then he held my hand very tightly as I was about to go about my business. I couldn't break free at first but then I used a lot of effort and got away from him. At that moment I realized something just wasn't right. So I started walking very fast and as I was about to go to the police he grabbed me from behind and pointed his gun to my side. Then another guy pointed his knife to the other side.Then I saw about five other guys pointing their guns towards me from a distance. Then I was like "Oh man! I'm in some serious shit now."
So they take away my cell phone and about a hundred dollars from my wallet (it may not seem much to some but it's quite a lot considering the currencies). Then all of then go their separate ways. I reported the incident to the police. Unfortunately for me i only got a good look at the two guys close to me but couldn't get a good look at the others. So I only got to mention those two.
Surprisingly I wasn't too scared during the incident. But after a few hours now I think my psychology has very much changed since the incident.
I decided to write something about this incident and wanted to share it with you guys.Please pardon my bad English.

I know how you feel man. I got mugged about 3 years ago. i was really drunk heading for a taxi in the city and these two guys came up and basically beat the shit out of me for my phone + 50$ :S
THe next day i wasn't really that hurt, but i was so mentally shaken by the whole experience. took me a while to get over
Lol 7 guys with guns, to steal from 1? that´s odd... i´m sorry u got mugged =( I´ve never been through anything like that, which is strange, cause most of my friends have been robbed at least one, or even multiple times... i guess i´m lucky (i also never cared about good cellphones so i´ve been with a 10 dollar one for like 3 years), and I never carry too much money with me, except when i have something planned to do with it. I would be pretty mad if i had lost a phone + 100 dollars to that scum...
i really doubt there were 7 guys with guns. I've been in the situations like that and when u have a fun pointed at you you start seeing things that arent there^_^ i dunno what to say though, i offer you my e-hugs though.

They were both literally almost an entire head shorter then me, skinny as fuck, and their knives were really bad, and I weigh like 90kg when the dude tried to cut me after I wouldnt give him my phone and I saw it barely pierced my skin I just beat the fuck out of em and ran before anyone else showed up Maybe its because of location? Mine happened in banani, maastaans here are a joke, dhanmondi assholes are much more dangerous though

The guy said that he had a gun in the pocket of his jacket (as if lol) but I told him I had nothing to give him. I told him how I was broke and struggling to pay my rent, so in the end he just let me go :D Actually it happened to me once when I was younger too. It started with a girl asking to use my mobile phone. When I gave it to her she started walking away and when I grabbed her shoulder, she shouted “rape!” and a big back guy stepped up and hit me in the face. I was really lucky that my friend was there too. He is a very small and thin guy who also was uncontrollably drunk at the time, but he grabbed the guy who attacked me around the waist so I could run after the girl. I’m still proud of how my friend reacted to the whole thing.

He was OK. The guy was just chasing after me. And some people came along at that moment, so I think he just left. When I caught the girl I literally told her I’d beat her to death if she didn’t give me my phone back and she gave it to me. I’m not aggressive but more of a passive type, so I would usually just let her go with my phone, but I guess my adrenalin was pumping and I was drunk...

Here's a bit of surreal realism:
I once got kind of mugged on the 7 train coming home from work. It was late night at the office, around 10pm -- the train wasn't crowded, but there was enough people that all the seats were taken. I hadn't eaten dinner yet, so I had grabbed a sandwich at one of those overpriced Metro Cafes (god damn I hate eating there cuz everything is 2x more expensive than it should be).
Anyway, I'm so hungry I can't wait to get home to eat, so I bust out my chicken sandwich and start chowing down in the subway car. Next thing I know, I hear this deep voice say to my immediate left, "Hey ... that looks really good."
I glance over and I see this gigantic black guy ... it's hard to tell how big he is 'cuz he's sitting, but he's at least a head taller than everyone else sitting down, and he barely fit in his seat. The next words out of his mouth was a calm order: "Give me a bite of that."
I do a double-take, look at my sandwich that's already 1/2 eaten, then look back at him. "Uh .... No? It's my sandwich???" I'm really confused at this point, I'm glancing around to see if anybody else is catching this, cuz this is really bizarre. I see a few people looking at us, but typical New Yorkers that we all are, nobody says anything and most aren't even paying attention.
Then the guy leans in real close to me, gives me this really intense look (not intimidating, more like a really sincere look) and says quietly, "If you do, I'll spare you your life."
Now I'm sizing him up again, and decide he's at least 2x my weight and could probably squat 4 of me no problem. His jacket is also really poofy, and could be concealing any kind of weapon. I figure to myself, "Ok look, even if it's a total bluff, it's just a $8 sandwich, it's just not worth the risk." I wordlessly hand him the sandwich, take the rest of my stuff, and move to another subway car.

Hey, the second time in Paris i almost pissed my pants and I would have given him money if I had any! And I don't exactly feel like a hero for threatening a girl lol. I'm really happy my friend was there to help me the first time. If it would happen to me now, I'd be glad to give away my phone and money if that would keep me out of trubble.

I remember kind of getting mugged one time. My friends and I went to a NORML (pro-marijuana organisation) party at Auckland uni. Obviously we wanted to score some weed so we were asking different people and ended up talking to these two Polynesian/Maori guys who said they could sell us some. They seemed pretty alright and they told us to go over to Albert park across the road to do the deal. There were three of us so I guess we felt pretty safe and like I said these guys seemed friendly enough.
When we got there though suddenly their tone changed and they told us to just give them the money (they probably didn't even have any weed). There was only two of them but one of them was a big guy and he looked crazy. One friend just wanted to give them the money (they were just asking for $25 I think) but our other friend was stubborn and he kept refusing. Eventually the big guy got mad and started swinging. He managed to hit both my friends once in the head before we got our senses together and ran out of there. They didn't really try to chase us.
When I look back I'm disappointed that we had to run from two guys but we were all kind of shock and too scared at the time. Plus the big guy could have probably taken all three of us if he knew what he was doing. I think it can be a good idea to have code words with your friends so that you can signal each other to all fight or run away if a situation arises.

Never give your money to a mugger, he didn't earn it so fuck that. Here in America there's this thing called "principles" and we don't let muggers walk all over us. Here's what you should've done in my (correct) opinion.

As they're choking for air, steal their wallets and kick them as they writhe on the ground, making sure to let them know that this is AMERICA (or wherever you are) and YOU DONT MUG IN AMERICA FUCKFACE.
