Since I got into E-Sports, I’ve always wanted someone who was as passionate and eager to discuss the various happenings and possibilities and so much more, that go on in day to day E-Sports.
E-Sports is as much a part of my life as eating and breathing are. I wake up, I check my emails, facebook, twitter, PM’s, Fnatic.com and TL.net. If I wasn’t able to check up on the various news items and personal interests I have in the industry, I would feel…disconnected if that makes sense to anyone.
Now, it is probably very important to explain my view on E-Sports and why I love it so much before I continue.
E-Sports to me is the perfect industry, for anyone. It is global, and discriminates against no age/gender/religion/ethnicity and it makes it easy for all these different kinds of people to connect with one another. From China to Canada to Sweden to South Africa, it makes no real difference what country you live in –provided you have an internet connection- you can participate in a local community or a global community.
E-Sports to me is capable of connecting the world and solving a lot of the worlds cultural conflict issues. Yes E-Sports is very young, we can all see that, there are many needs and wants of the industry and we are all still working on making those things happen. But overall, E-Sports is an industry that develops with the times, allows people to relate to one another through common interest, and you are not limited.
E-Sports takes a very high level of skill, and even if you cannot achieve that, for whatever reason, you can still have fun and be involved in many ways.
Through the past 6 or so years, I have always been searching for people who have a genuine love of E-Sports and that love to discuss, as I said, various topics. It doesn’t matter if its discussing a strategy in a game, a player transfer, an event going bankrupt or a new one starting. No topic is too small or too large to discuss. Sadly, it seems, at least for me, that no one wishes to discuss E-Sports at length.
I don’t know if I am preaching to an empty crowd here, or if there are actually others that want the same thing, but if there are, you are not alone!
You can stumble into any public forum (restaurant, bar, coffee shop, etc.) and seemingly strike up a conversation about the latest news in mainstream sports or politics or whatever, but never –even online- do I see people just casually discussing E-Sports.
Maybe it’s just me, but if anyone wants to discuss E-Sports, my door is always open. It’s pretty easy to get a hold of me, and I’m always willing to discuss E-Sports, so feel free.
E-Sports enthusiasts, you are not alone!
