Wow...So let me start from the beginning. 12 years ago when I was just a wee lad, my good friend Steve introduced me to Starcraft. We'd 2v2 nearly everyday while on the phone like a couple of nerds, because vent didn't exist back then. And we quickly became pretty decent at the game.. well, for middle schoolers at least.
The first clan we both joined was named ^FA^ (Forgotten Angels), but for some reason, a lot of us ended up leaving, including the leader (this was 12 years ago so some details are very fuzzy). The then-former leader, and a few of the ex-members, including me and Steve, decided to form a new clan. We decided upon [i'm] (Immortal). The leader was [i'm]Cloud, Steve was [i'm]Mad, and I went by [i'm]Swift (I later changed to "Quick and then "Matrix" for some reason). There were a few others, but the only other person I remember is [i'm]trippin. But anyway, [i'm] grew to be a very popular clan, with even a ladder system on the [i'm] website. Some of you may know where this is going.
Cloud recruited a lad who went by the name [i'm]Nazgul. I remembered Nazgul being very skilled, and he handed me my ass on a platter on more than one occasion (which wasn't really that hard to do, because honestly, I sucked at BW). Shortly after, I shifted focus to fps games, particularly CS, and pretty much phased out SC and BW.
So fast forward to yesterday. I am browsing TL.net because I am starting to get into SC2. I find out TL was created by Liquid`Nazgul. Hmmm... Nazgul. Sounds very familiar... Could he be the same Nazgul that I remember from 12 freakin years ago?? Then I found this page: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/Team_Liquid Wow. What a crazy coincidence. My first thought was "Holy shit". Then I smiled a big smile and laughed a hearty laugh. I genuinely felt happy for Nazgul, all of the progress he's made, and the achievements he's earned. I won't leave out [i'm]gijoy, because that name does ring a bell, albeit vaguely. Bravo, and well done, gentlemen! Now I feel special for being clanmates with Nazgul and Meat back when I was a small child.
Speaking of coincidences, this one might be even crazier. When [i'm] grew popular and we started recruiting more, we started using the tag ][m~ for new initiates who wanted to try out for the clan. There was a dude named ][m~KidRock, whom I've played a few games with. So now fast forward about 6 years. I develop a keen interest in acrobatic martial arts. I start frequenting a martial arts "tricking" forum, where I meet and befriend several other martial artists. Ever since then, we've been training together somewhat regularly, and we are all still good friends to this day. But get this.. they all used to play SC also.. and yes, you guessed it. One of them was ][m~KidRock. We both did not know this until a couple years after we met on the martial arts forum. Needless to say, when we found out, both of our minds were blown.
Small world we live in, fellas..

The internet is a pretty wonderful place-- even with all the weirdos that lurk within it! :D That was a pretty neato story.

I remember [i'm] quite fondly, I remember trying to join you guys on a smurf account because we clan war'd you guys roughly 11~ years ago.
The clans I remember from the old days - [i'm], Rice Clan, $Playaz$, Chaos Factors, Hunters, (Obviously X17, but I'm trying to remember if this was before or around the same time as X17), Sphere, 4aiur~ .. To name a few.
I was sHad[e]z or Shadow[e], I ran a clan back in the day called [e]lement in which all our members put a [e] in their names as part of our tag. We actually had some semi-famous and former pros from our old roster from 10-11 years ago, which included NoNy and his buddies, I also believe we had C-Luck in our guild for a brief time too.. Good Times.
I remember playing you guys in clanwars.com, Cloud Ladder, Cloria? Ladder(the one after cloud ladder ran by the [Rice] Clan guys), WGTour, iGame, ETC.
Edit:
We played ^FA^ in a Clan War around 1999-2000ish according to my ghetto records from our old site. Crazy.

Haha, wow. Yes I totally remember [e]lement clan, Rice, $Playaz$, 4aiur... x17 came after BW, I think, and of course that's where everyone went for pick-up games. Another clan I remember is [Rush]. Man, those were the days, seriously.
