Hi there.

I might have a job offer to work in Madison, WI. I've travelled around a lot growing up and I've covered a lot of the southern half of the United States as well as England. I don't know anyone in Wisconsin or that northern part of the country, so I was wondering if anyone here could fill me in on what its like there.

What's the average rent for an apartment? How much is a gallon of milk? You know, the important stuff. Craigslist doesn't tell the whole story.

I'm from Minnesota (like 5 hours away from Madison). A gallon of milk is like two or three dollars. Rent, really depends on what kind of place you're staying in. Other than that it's alright. If you're not used to the cold GLHF during winter lol

It is a college town. I went to school there and graduated about a year ago. I shared a 2 bedroom apartment with a roommate and we each payed $570 a month. Granted that was a college apt very close to campus. I am sure you can find cheaper stuff elsewhere. Also, I would spend around $150 a month on food.

Apartment ran me 400$ for 7 guys 7 beadrooms close to campus, 400 to 600 not quite as close to campus for a nicer place. More like 500 to 600 if it's a single. Milk is made here, so it's not too bad.

Madison is the shit! I fucking love this place. College town, great people, great food! Lots of music and places to hang out. Farmer's market on saturdays around the capitol, all sorts of things to do, if you enjoy just shooting the shit, hanging out by either lake or on the terrace (on the lake) and drinking a beer can't be beat!

People are nice, it's not congested, little crime. I really do love this place, and I everyone I know has good things to say about it. My french coworkers think that it is their favorite city is the midwest.

Also, if you are in to sports, the university is one of the most successful in the country.
