Consider this a lesson. If you can't defend cheese, then your scouting needs work, or you need to play less riskily. Perhaps your micromanagement or multitask is weak. The common trend of all of the above is that they involve weaknesses in your play, and that's something to work on. Care more about improving than points or rank, and you won't mind as much.

My micro sucks. Macro is what got me as high as I am now, so if my macro gets hurt in any way it seems to pretty much screw me. I tend to just make more than my opponent can/quick upgrade and just mow their army over. I DO care about improving, thats why I'm so frustrated and thats why I wont want to be bumped down. I know I'll steamroll most of the competition on lower levels, and going on those huge win streaks like i mentioned wont help anything but my confidence.

YOU BROKE A KEYBOARD? Why? If you do care about improving, you just said your micro was weak.... Fix it ^_^

As long as you can get through the frustration and keep playing you'll end up a better, safer, and more aware player.

To me, cheese isn't viable, so I never lose against it or win with it.

I just really hate losing, to put it extremely mildly. Whats made me most upset is when I BARELY dont survive. Like one of my last games I got proxy gated and ended up losing one more zealot than the other guy, had to pull probes to save a pylon which resulted in me losing to many to catch back up. I'm gonna go pick up another cheapo keyboard after work. Didnt Day[9] say he uses pos keyboards cause he smashed so many? :D On August 12 2010 00:59 ella_guru wrote: LOL YOU BROKE A KEYBOARD? Why? Well perhaps this is a wake up call as to where your game is lacking and what needs the most improvement? Be safe and scout more - I don't mind wasting time checking the corners of my base for proxy pylon->warpgate shennanigans or 6 raxs because I am confident that I can macro better and come out ahead in a 20 minute game. I'm not sure if you mentioned what race you play but walling is pro if you're terran or protoss, Z you can be more aggressive and pool earlier. If you always play the macro game try playing more aggressively - worst case you'll end up more well-rounded with a better understanding of gameplay dynamics. Silver lining in every cloud eh eh eh?

In a game where your probes have auto-surround and you can select all of them at once (no more leaving stray probes when you have 12+), you say you have problems handling early game pressure? Go play some fucking Brood War, you will come back as a gosu. There is a reason no one does early pool builds in pro gaming (RARE EXCEPTIONS ARE PRESENT BUT IRRELEVANT since no person going 6 pool has gosu micro), its because they don't work against anyone who has any concept of what micro is. Seriously. If I were you, I'd be breaking my keyboard too, like a person who doesn't know how to read would use a book as firewood. You are better off smashing it than doing whatever you were doing with it before. GG.

Thanks, good advice. I play toss btw. Thinking about it I guess I dont wall enough, and if I do they arent proper walls (when I tried during the losing streak vs a zerg I got baneling busted, easily).

How did you manage to reach in and pull those numbers out your ass? I love people who come in here and talk like theyre all pro, or just talk like straight up dicks. If im not microing or scouting I suppose I'm making units, chronoboosting upgrades/robo units/probes, making buildings, trying to expand, etc. So what, you spend the majority of your time microing? I only got 6 pooled once and it was my own fault for not walling, it had nothing to do with macro at all. You cant defend from lings if you havent built any units yet. But I guess I shouldn't argue with you, since you win every game you play and every tourney you enter, and since you have "gosu" micro. Congrats on having the only non-constructive post here.

You really should be demoted... :/ edit: just read your previous post. You do not have to wall to defend a 6-pool, you can defend it with a 13-gate. Micro probes and run around for a bit until your chrono'd zealot comes out, then mix the zealot with the probes and fight. You'll finish with a lot more workers than the 5 drones the opponent has

Im playing 2v2 in Bronze with a good friend of mine who is completely new to RTS games (He was a consolegamer) and about 60-70% of all our games are against people cheesing. It's so fucking annoying that we ended up just floating buildings into corners and hiding pylons all the time. We are 8-7 i believe and ALL of our losses was against rushers/cheesers.
