Life stuff: niteReloaded retires from SKT1 and joins Air ForceAir Traffic Control in the Zagreb Airport
Not quite playing alongside Yellow & Reach, but overseeing the Air Traffic. Long story short, you need only basic education, but perfect health, perfect english(by foreign standards) and very good "Real-Time Managment skills".
My dad is related to the company and dad's friend too. So dad's friend visits us the other day and asks me if I'm interested in the job. I politely say 'nah' coz I kinda have different plans (that are still vague I admit).
So after like half and hour, before he's about to leave, as we shake hands, he suggests for me to think about it for a few days and then decide. Then he adds that it's extremely hard to get the job because the testing eliminates like 95% of the population, but that I'd do good if I'm good at video games and doing stuff in real time.
I LOL'd in my mind and thought "250 APM C Terran should be good yes?"
The job would include:
- working around 6h a day
- working for half an hour, then having half an hour break
- having days at work where you are obliged to go to sauna, swimming pool or other relaxation sites (the work is apparently very stressful, so they must know you're relaxing enough)
- around 4-5 times the average salary of Croatia (up to $6K)
- employee discounts on air travelling tickets
I'll get tested in the next month or so, and if they pick me, and I decide to go for it, I'll have to go to Germany for 10 months to get the neccessary education for the job.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the average life span of the Air Traffic Controler is shorter than that of the people who work in mining shafts.

The "angry" look is probably due to trimmed eyebrows (sister made me do it).
I'm actually pretty playful as a person, so this look is like the rediscovered side of my personality that I find refreshing.

Yeah, apparently the stress is enormous, imagine you and 2-3 other people in the shift being in charge for every airplane that comes in and out of the city.
That's why their standards are high: only the people that meet all the requirements are hired, but then they are treated like a drop of water in the desert with all the cool benefits. So yeah, hopefully I have a fun 20 years ahead of me still and then goodbye earth in my 40s :D

Ive always had the curiosity of knowing what were the skills you had to have to be an air traffic controller, and i also wondered if any BW skills could be translated in real life... hehee good luck maybe if I ever go to Zagreb ill land safely thanks to you hehe..
