So I'm sure many of you will agree with me; going on TL late at night with the white back round makes your eyes burn to hell and being able to turn the back round to say, black, would be much easier on the eyes.

sure, but it causes a nightmare with images and color schemes to switch something like that.

I know what you mean lol I sneak on here late at night with out the parents catching me ^_^... Still got flippin curfew... blech But its bright as hell! and Does hurt the eyes -.- It would be pretty cool to be able to change the color of the background like in gmail. I know basic html but Idk how difficult it would be to make the background optional lol

Depends on how much time and effort the coders have to put in to making it happend.
I don't think I'll find me in a situation where I really need to make the backround another colour.
Just because I won't use the option doesn't mean that it's a bad idea, maybe someone else find it usefull.

Use the firefox addon Stylish + the tl theme called 'dark minimal' someone made for TL (which is far from being perfect)
Then you can change things you want (and make it all white for exemple).
