Seriously now...I'm hoping this is not intentional. If it is, with the purpose being to remove trolling in game which does exist to an extent, then this is ridiculous.

PvE is balls easy, but somehow there are those with hundreds of days of playtime who nevertheless manage to excel at being bad at it. | ||

You would just have to /run BNGetInfo() on yourself, or if you want your addon to broadcast the names of others on your friends list, there is a similar way to do that. | ||

There is a window that says Skizofrenic Jenkins Clan WMD Level 80 Blood Elf Mage (player) etc etc. This window is created by an addon called 'GearScore'. The purpose of this addon is to give you a number that correlates to how high the level of that person's gear is. It is an easy way to generalize how far a player has progressed, or at least how much time they have played. Now if you look at the 2nd to bottom line, it says "Real ID:" and then the OP whited out the name. This addon enabled/enables you to see anybody's real name who is near you. The nice people who made GearScore apparently took down the version of the addon that did this, but if they could do it, anybody could make an addon to tell you people's real names. EDIT: To make it clear, that is the real name of the guy on the right side of the screen, riding the clear/stary horse thing. | ||

The relevant part of the picture is the square window in the bottom right. A UI addon called gearscore that accesses and rates the gear level of other players apparently now has access to players' RealIDs. The ID in the picture is whited out. But basically anyone can see your real name which is pissing people off. | ||

If you don't want to get your information sent across to some random person, then don't install a crappy add-on. You kill them in arenas or camp them for like 2 hours in ironforge or whatever, and they may do something stupid if they know your real ID. This really has nothing to do in a mmo. | ||
