Lately, I've seen some blogs with people posting music or talking about music programs and such. I decided to throw my stuff out there and get some feedback from the TL community.

I made this song during my finals for college. I studied and then I would work on this song. I needed to take breaks and this song helped me calm down. This is one of the few works I'm actually, truly proud of. Please take a listen and give some feedback.

Beginning sounds like some ambient Final Fantasy music. For some reason Mako Reactor comes to mind.

hmm really good, i like it. but i think my shitty headphones chopped it up. What program do u use?

I'm an Ableton user. All the synths were done with a VST called Fab Filter Twin 2. A pretty solid synth thats easy to learn yet can make some pretty complex sounds.

hmm i want to make a track, but have no resources, i once asked a dj for the programs he gave me the list, but i lost it, are those all the programs you used to make this?

Pretty much yes. Ableton offers a wide array of audio effects. So the reverb on the synth was all done with Ableton. I am currently using Ableton Intro which is only 100 dollars and is amazing even with the limitations it has. Fab Filter Twin 2 wasnt free either. I forgot how much it was exactly, but its still a good synth none the less.

More specifically, what kind of track are you thinking of making?

oh techno all kinds, i just want to test myself, see if i have the ears for music i think i have. That being said, im off to DL these programs, ftw!

Fruity Loops Studio is probably the best/easiest program to use for making good drum/synth techno-ish type tracks.. go find it on torrents.

Sounds nice, but not my favorite kind of music.
FabFilter looks interesting, though.

Good stuff, I liked it. I thought maybe it could use a little more bass. Maybe it doesn't need it, but I tend to like a lot of B in my DnB. Will listen on some better speakers than I have here at work sometime this weekend.

definitely could use a big drop like halfway thru the tune; ] was cool though, pretty mellow

i liked your track "Whitefall" a lot actually. Really nice tune there

Rally J - Whitefall

Since you mentioned it, I'll post a link. Yeah, this song was more for my girlfriend. She didnt really enjoy the first track, and she is into the whole R&B stuff. So I decided to add a dubstep drum loop. I worked out better than I expected and came out to be chill yet still has that DnB feel I enjoy.

Also, I used a 2 synths in that song. Fab Filter Twin 2 and Massive. Massive is an AMAZING synth. It has everything. I'm still trying to teach myself how to use it, but I've seen my cousin make some pretty awesome Dubstep beats on it.
