Sounds like a lot, but here's the catch: you only get to keep LittleBigPlanet permanently. If you stop paying your subscription, you lose access to all of it, including the avatars.

Yes: you lose access to all of it, despite what Gizmodo have reported. Here's proof from the EU PS3 Blog:

As a member you can expect to get your hands on at least 4 games a month at no extra charge. Each month there will be a selection of 1x PSN game, 2x minis and 1x PS One classics. A list of the games available in month 1 and 2 can be found below. You will be able to download these games during the month they are available, until the new selection replaces these.

The DLC, which changes from month to month, isn't particularly exciting. LBP doesn't do much for me either, especially since it's been out for years. Wipeout HD is probably the most playable title on the whole list, but you lose access to it after a month.

You can buy Wipeout HD Fury for AUD $40 (a yearly subscription is just under AUD $70) anyway.

In essence, Playstation Plus comes down to whether or not that month has the swag of goodies you're after. Problem is, you're praying from month to month, and that's not good enough.

I don't pay my ISP $60 a month and hope that the Internet doesn't drop out. You don't fill Blizzard's coffers with the money spent on game cards hoping the servers don't die on the ass. Subscription services need to be consistent, and Playstation Plus isn't.

Playstation is trying to find ways to make money.

Like their online is free which cost them alot of money i guess.

Thank god i don't have to pay to play with other people online.

I don't see the deal. You get 4 games to play every month for the duration of your subscription, and they stay tied to your account even if your subscription goes out for a month or so, so you can get them back.

That sounds like a great deal to me.

Yeah, I mean I am totally excited for Playsation Plus. I mean if you try it now you get LBP+Wipout both HUGE titles, that itself pays around 40bucks. They are also gonna throw in 3 free months of subscription, and you will end up with 48 games by the end of that year, not to mention all the additional stuff. Keep in mind sony said this is a starting program, and they are looking to expand it much more than the startup. In my opinion as long as the games they choose dont completely suck, its a great deal.

This is the problem.

The game you get for free, is old. Most have it or have already played it. Wipeout is the same problem.

You get 4 games to play every month for the duration of your subscription, and they stay tied to your account even if your subscription goes out for a month or so, so you can get them back.

You only have access to them in that month period - when the month ends, you lose access to those games whether your Plus account is active or not.

I'll buy some games off the PSN or add-ons, but I'm not going to pay for this. I don't really care all that much. Just like why I never got gamefly. I don't want to pay a bunch of money over a period of time for me to only play one game for 4-5months.

its not really a issue since you dont have to buy it. i mean the internet has always been free. at least it isnt xbox

This is completely untrue. It works just as Xbox lives does. Games are playable as long as your subscription is active. Avatar and Themes are also permanently kept. The whole point of the rotation of download-able goodies, is to encourage monthly visits.

From what I gather, it's a subscription model like many of the music services - you pay a set fee for unlimited music that you can listen to while your subscription is active, with a few tracks/goodies every month that you keep permanently.
