Lag During Games?

Okay my laptops sucks balls, it's pissing me off how the performance is doing. When I play SC2 it starts lagging in 5-10 minutes during the game. I put the quality on medium and it's running really fine...smooth as silk, and my FPS is about 30. Then 5-10 minutes into the game, my FPS drops to around 1-5 and starts lagging. And the weird thing is if I don't have my battery charger connected to my laptop, it runs fine, and it runs 'till my battery life dies, which sucks cause my damn battery life is only 15 damn minutes. Not enough...It doesn't do this with SC1 or Steam games, that I've played. And I just recently got 2K10 for PC and it does the same thing. So if you can help thanks.

Is your power setting the same for both the battery and if you plug it in?

And did you try setting it to low

check your heat, could be heat protection throttling, consider blasting your computer with some compressed air if you're laptop is old it prob needs some.

Try cleaning out the fan? My computer used to automatically shut down because it was overheating.

Yes and yeah I set it to low and still lags, everything I did even to the lowest and you do not know how ugly it was lol. My heat is the same whenever I play games like SC and Steam games. Laptop is about 1.5 years old.

It sounds like a heat problem - have an external laptop fan / cooler? Considering that your game only starts lagging after several minutes in, you should try checking your GPU temp before/after gameplay.

Definitely an overheating problem because you're running it fine to begin with, and those specs are more than enough for SC2.

I got the same problem.

Always the first game when I open Sc2 !!!!

My FPS from 30 drop to 15 for about 5 mins after the first 10 mins of the games ...

After that first match, everything work fine even if i play 100 games....

Some problem i dunno, always the first game whenever i try to play sc2

Laptops always have heat issues when gaming. Try propping your laptop up a little so that it's a little off the surface of the table, so that it gets some air flowing under the bottom of it. That usually helps mine when it starts to get hot.

yeah this definently sounds like a heating problem. clean the dust out of the insides of your computer.

I've had the same problemor.

If you're still on warranty, see if you can get your fan and heat sink replaced. I had this problem a few months ago with my laptop and the problem didn't go away just by taking off the bottom plate and blowing air into it. The problem was gone when I had it replaced, and even more my computer ran much quieter than before.

As a temporary fix, prop your laptop up with a book and blow a desk fan underneath it, as others have suggested.
