Hey TL,
I just arrived in Hongdae, Seoul with very little in the way of planning. Staying at a hostel. If any SC'ers are in the area and want to go out for drinks that'd be fun. Here for 5 weeks over uni break so I've plenty of time to go see some live starcraft if anyone wants to join for that and whatever else. I'm guessing mainly eating and drinking. Pretty quiet atm with the world cup on, haven't seen many Westerners although it is my first night. I'll continue to blog while I'm here with pics and such. Ideas of what I want to do here:

- See a KT proleague match
- Go to the OSL group stages
- Meet Artosis and bitch about dt's
- the Mud festival in July
- Watch Argentina vs Korea at city hall or wherever there is a big public screen
- Score an invite to a lilsusie gathering
- Lotte world
- Check out the palace/s, DMZ etc and raise my knowledge of Korean history beyond the last 10 years of esports.

Any other suggestions?

Yeah the food is definitely a priority although it kinda sucks cause I need to buy and eat for two, most of the korean restaurants don't like serving single patrons. Already got the korean lady front covered so anma's and general skirt chasing is sadly a no-go.

Something like $115US for the first week in a 4 person share room and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that PL matches are free to attend, hope so.

I want some bingsu. Damn diet means it'd only be ice lol. HF in Seoul, there's also a big screen set up down by COEX in Samsung usually. I'd go down, but I think it will be too crowded for my liking.

I'm gonna be in Seoul with some friends this Friday, if you or anyone else is there we could probably meet up and kick it, but I'm not sure about the timeframe I'm gonna be on. At the end of this month or next I'm going up to play a poker tournament in Seoul so that would probably be a good time too.

Thank you Mr Hoon http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=102898 and Elric http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=80483 really helpful guides. I'm going to a bathhouse on Saturday (trust me you don't want pics) as my gf is pretty much forcing me. Then on Sunday will go see KT (FLASH!) vs CJ if anyone if anyone wants to join PM me. Pretty happy Hongdae is so close to both MBC (3 stops) and OGN studios. The meals so far have been amazing. Sadly it usually ends with me leaning back in my chair with a food pregnancy wishing I'd stopped to take a photo first.

Seoul was crazy last night with the soccer vs Argentina. Koreans really love their country and with all the enthusiasm it's hard not to get swept up. For some reason I find the patriotism endearing whereas with Americans it's alot more obnoxious. Pretty surprised by how many Koreans there are in Seoul (feels like 99.9%). Sounds stupid to say but it is a bit of a shock coming from Sydney which is a real mix. Here I really do feel like a foreigner. I guess we are so few in comparison that they can just lump us in the one category.

Oh and so far in my attempt to support all sponsors of SC whilst here I've rented a KT mobile, drank Hite (it's really not that bad) and Pocari Sweat (strange yet refreshing, little bit like clear gatorade). I will conduct some SC + PS testing later on and graph the results.

Hite is considerably better than a lot of cheap aussie beers like Tooheys, VB and possibly even Carlton.

The food is one of the best parts of Korea.

1. so galbi (소갈비) manner beef bbq
2. oo sam gyub (우삼겹) sickest thin slices of beef with manner sam jung
3. gam ja tang (감자탕) hard to eat but the reward is well worth it if you go to a good place
4. pok tan ju (폭탄주) I trust that as an aussie the OP should be able to appreciate the manner hybrid drink that pok tan ju is

And of course you should not leave the country without going to club i or boss at least once.

Yeah I prefer Cass the most, and OB more than Hite as well. But I still like Hite well enough. Kona, you're lucky you don't live here, our beers are way worse
