I was in the kitchen the other day when this occurred to me and I felt it just had to be expressed here.
I mean, think about it. They are highly technological, love making robots and are all about honor and dying for their country/planet.
Zealots are basically like kamikaze pilots- the way they are always suiciding themselves into minefields and siege tanks. Oh and they kind of look like they are wearing samurai armor.
And of course the dark templars are ninjas.
If you want to take this specious analogy further I think there's also a weak case for Korea to be the terrans and Chinese to be the zergs.
The terrans are the most aggressive talking of the three species, kind of like, (ahem) Koreans. Oh, and there is the political rift between the UED and the confederacy like that between the North and South.
As for the zerg, well they are very numerous and rely on sheer manpower to get things done, like (ahem) the Chinese. Plus, there is the group mind thing which is somewhat reminiscent of communism.

I remember some article made a comment about this in Brood War. Protoss was the United States with its focus on technology and the individual warrior. Zerg was the Chinese with their overwhelming numbers and tactical maneuvers. Terran was Russia with its highly mechanized forces and Valkyrie accents.

How is the Valkyrie accent Russian? If you translate what she says for certain commands, it's actually German.
I can kinda see the resemblance between Japan and the Protoss, but no one really get close to them, except for the Eldar from WH40k because they're highly advanced, few in number and have very specialized units. Oh, and they're all psykers too, just like the Protoss.
You're better off making analogies to Warhammer than to real life.
