I have to agree with the US placement matches being a ton easier, I've done the US and EU ones plenty of times and the level seems a bit different. Dunno about friendliness though, I've gotten tons of bad manner from both servers and rarely anyone bothers to gg after a loss.

I haven't played on US pre 13 patch but with BattlePing the US servers are super playable from europe. I hope they start supporting asia soon as well.

Do not underestimate the huge role that luck plays in your placement matches level. You're basically playing against people who are unranked in the beta on both servers, it's just a matter of whether they played a lot before or not, and that's 100% luck based.

Edit: I'm not saying there can't be differences. There might be a lot more bad players on one server, but then it still doesn't really matter for your placement matches, except that you have a slightly better chance of being up against shitty opponents.

yeah..the US servers seem mildly friendly but imo when the game starts if i say GL HF people should say GL HF back..i find u2 a little rude (might be my sc1 manners showing) not that having friendly talk isn't kool.

The placement matches...wow im always highly amazed at the completely retardation of competition. Iv never played anyone i felt like i couldn't do ANYTHING and i mean ANYTHING i wanted and would still easily win.

Its always nice to see EU players not being completely appalled by the US server lol

us is a looot weaker then EU. they dont seem to understand or employ proper strategies but generally because of that are mechanically sound and inventive.
I also chat a lot on US but dont on euro and at one time didnt even say the usual glhf and gg on euro. I feel like generally i can afford to chat on US and because on euro all my games are that much tougher i have to dedicate entirely to APM!:D

I have a feeling that players don't talk as much in the EU server because it covers a lot more countries and languages than US (which is essentially English only).

Agreed that placement matches are ridiculously easy on US.

I don't think that's 100% true, you don't necessarily play someone who is unranked - and seeing that is the case it might also be true that it matches you up with a bronze in 1st match, silver in 2nd, or just an even mix of those.

but there is definitely luck involved. i lost against 2 really good zergs in a row and ended up in silver because i dropped another game as well. i'd say i'm at least gold/plat (maybe no diamond) but i got pretty bad luck on my placement matches.

I'd imagine the US servers aren't on average as high a level, but maybe I'm wrong.

I just started doing the same thing as you yesterday.
Although I only played 5 matches I have found pretty similar results, especially with the lack of lag.

Well I think at the top level there is little difference from USA players and EU players... it's not like people from the USA don't have the potential to be just as skilled and intelligent. Unfortunately the USA is filled with a huge number of totally fucking dumb people, so I would imagine that the average to below average bracket for USA is just pathetic compared to that for EU.
