This is where I should have examples. But somehow my mind is blank. Which is a sort of metaphor right there, since I am comparing my mind to something one could write on. I also just realized that when I described our perception as "wrapped up", that is using a metaphor too. Its also amusing that you would use Hemingway and "The Catcher in the Rye" as examples - They both mostly eschew "fancy" writing and metaphors, no? | ||

Actually he is right. Metaphor is a more general term and simile is a specific type of metaphor. Before you tell someone they are wrong you should not be the one who is wrong. BTW metaphors are more useful than you probably are aware of OP. | ||
