I’ve fought this guy since we first met, every LAN we have had together has usually turned into a one on one fest and every bit as agonising as the rest he always kept winning in wc3, we would even out in brood war and while I didn’t play on that much of a regular basis and he had all the time in the world, in sc2 beta our roles have been reversed.
I now have so much spare time on my hands, playing constantly is a possibility so aside from jogging, weightlifting and occasionally travelling to my grandfather to use my boxing sack and have fun.
I play League of legends and sc2 beta, haven’t touched another game in weeks, aside from those two.
He is a sort of motivation to keep going, yet the style of play im faced against is a Trick style play, invisible banshees? Dark templar’s? Anything remotely considered gay strategy and macro disruptive, name it and he has most likely attempted it at some point, but at least since I am used to his methods,
Hiding expos, hidden techs and timing harasses, As well as the fact that he favours harass rather than outright killing you gives me a slight advantage from any random who meets the guy in ladder.
He is bad, and I am equally bad, I still loose most of my fights against him and always find things to improve upon.
Macro Wise I am still a terribald Zerg player and Micro wize im still suffering from 1a2a3a syndrome, when mirror is your best and favourite matchup something is wrong. I BLAME DAY 9! He only covered Zerg vs Zerg x(
I simply lack the fundamentals to killing toss and terran players consistently. Ultimately the only knowledge I can extract from anyone is that I SUCK at this game, even Artosis with his generosity delivering a major replay pack for people to study gives me 0 intel on what builds to use.
Strategy so far.
ZVZ:
14 pool, 15 Hatch, 17 extractor / queen, 20 Bling nest, next try to fit in a lair or evo chamber as you scout the opponent.
ZvT: 14 pool, 17 extractor, lings then queen, ling speed, expand, then POOF; my mind goes crazy as im subjected to banshees and tanks and thors or worse, if left alone to fimble around I overdrone and die to greed.
ZvP 14 Pool, 14 Hatch, 16 Queen, try to fit in lings but get second queen fast, make at least 3 spine crawlers before attempting to overdrone, if opponent goes 2 gate at the start I fit in a roach warren if he goes cyber core in between I simply make more crawlers and stick to speedlings, then I fast tech to lair get triple gas and plop down hydra den and pwn his immortal, phenix, voidray timing push / harass. IF THIS DOESN’T COME IM LIKE WTF DO I DOO NOAW ;O HURRRRRRR oh hes making colossi erm oh, aha, im dead well that sucked. Next game.
I simply don’t know and have a hard time really finding out what to do late game now that I ACTUALLY get to the late game, Broodlords seem like the optimal choice but my timings are all thrown off because of lack of experience.
