GTX 460 is actually GF100 chip, it basically like a 5830 a ultra crippled high end chip lol, ofc it's all about how they disable and handle it we all know the GF100 is an under-performing set up right now it's not really even close to the projected clocks and runs too hot and consumes too much energy which would be solved with a die shrink but that's about a year away. The GTS will likely be a sign that it's a GF104 I would like nvidia to push out the 5830 and 5770 cleanly, frankly the 5770 is trash for the same price as last gen it's not as good like everyone i blame the cheaper memory bus, and the 5830 is just too high in price for it's performance. Right now nvidia holds it at 470 vs 5850 it's a matter of cost in the US either way is just about fine. When you get up to 2x 5850 v 2x 470 470 wins easy due to sli scaling being the boss compared to ati's. Same shit happens when you get to 2x5870 vs 2x480 the 480 pulls ahead for being a high end product that frankly just beats the 5870 by a large margin so much so that it's cost per frame is less then the 5870 at that point. But the single 5870 vs 480 is not so great cost per frame etc. ramble ramble ramble | ||

I was under the impression that the GTX 460 would use the GF104 core ;_; I also remember reading that there will be no reference model. While I like nonreference, I'm not sure if I can trust Nvidia's partners with a nonreference model that quickly considering how much heat those cores produce. I'm looking forward to seeing MSI's nonreference Frozer though. Hopefully Nvidia can push out the 5750, 5770, and 5830. Three mediocre cards dominating the market T_____T | ||

Yup MSRP is nice in the US for new tech, sad part after transporting it to Europe taxes etc for europe it usually follows say MSRP of $370 for US would = 370 euros for Europe which with current conversion mean you lost out big time lol. | ||

That's pretty good imo. I wasn't a big fan of the 5770 when you could still get 4870 for less, but now the prices are really attractive. But yea i don't like the 5830. | ||

But yea i don't like the 5830. 5770 + dx11 = lol where did my frame rate goe Also the 5770 < 4870 in performance. the watts is becuase 1 the 5770 clocks down super aggressively into a barely on state when not under load, and has a lower max load, which also makes it quieter while not under load, but at load heat and noise is about preferences it produces about the same amount of heat as the fan settings lets it go up to 75c before being aggressive. noise is about performances too. Most people will say the 5870 vs 480 the 480 is loud yeah but no any louder then a 260 or a 4870, but they also say the 480 has a much lower tone to it then the 5870 which has a buzzing sound to it's fan etc. things aren't so cut and dry when you talk about sound. | ||

The 4870 1GB usually has a small edge but i also can find some games where the 5770 is ahead. Also you can play Dx11 games with a 5770 if you don't have a huge res or if you don't have AA at max. I mean playing Dirt 2 with ~ 40 fps isn't THAT bad. Really i don't know why people hate this card when you can get it for 150$. I mean when it was released i was really convinced that the cheaper 4870s were a better deal but now ... lulz | ||

I'm just disappointed by it. It's really only an option because 4870s are going out of stock and GTX 260s have an artificial shortage placed on them. | ||
