What are you going to do when SC2 comes out? Obviously some people are going to buy it immediately and others aren't... but I'm assuming most of you are going to get it right away or shortly thereafter so I won't account for this in the poll.
Poll: When SC2 Comes Out I WillPlay the single player campaign (139) 68% Start playing ladder/placement matches (48) 23% Play custom games online (7) 3% Open up the level editor and check it out (4) 2% Other (post in thread) (3) 1% Work on generating software/programs akin to bwchart and chaos and/or various hacks (2) 1% Check out the social areas and talk to other people (1) 0% Buy the game but not play it for a while (1) 0% 205 total votes Your vote: When SC2 Comes Out I Will (Vote): Start playing ladder/placement matches (Vote): Play custom games online (Vote): Play the single player campaign (Vote): Open up the level editor and check it out (Vote): Check out the social areas and talk to other people (Vote): Buy the game but not play it for a while (Vote): Work on generating software/programs akin to bwchart and chaos and/or various hacks (Vote): Other (post in thread)
Feel free to explain your reasoning. It's still a bit early to answer this question since we haven't even seen everything that should be available during beta... but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Personally, + Show Spoiler +As someone who was in the beta I'm going to take advantage and get myself into a platinum league really quickly (insert joke about how I'll end up in copper), then check out the level editor! Can't wait to see how powerful it is and I'm praying it isn't extremely difficult to use... and that there is sufficient support documentation. Maybe it will be released during beta in which case I'll change my plans I guess. Also, I will meet up with my sc1 friends who aren't in the beta and show them 'around'.
Other Polls that might prove useful:
Poll: I have particpated in sc2 betaYes! (74) 57% No, or not yet, or not really (55) 43% 129 total votes Your vote: I have particpated in sc2 beta (Vote): Yes! (Vote): No, or not yet, or not really
Poll: I am going to buy...Regular SC2 (63) 48% The Collector's Ediction of SC2 (38) 29% Not sure (24) 18% Neither (6) 5% 131 total votes Your vote: I am going to buy... (Vote): Regular SC2 (Vote): The Collector's Ediction of SC2 (Vote): Neither (Vote): Not sure

If I do get SC2, then I will probably play the ladder since my mapmaking skills suck and I am not a big fan of the campaign. Although if it does come out, I am not sure if I'm going to buy it anyways...I'm currently in Beta but I still don't know if I want to play it competitively or not.
When SC2 comes out, I will host a shitton of tourneys here and promote the game like hell until dota dies.
i'll be playing, but take breaks often and chat up ppl ^_^
then i'll probably get bored and invite ppl to play bw with me
campaign to learn a bit the unit
same as FaCE but also I'll try the mp the same day probably
Campaign! I don't know about you guys, but I loved the SC1 campaign... I have a feeling I'll beat the campaign before playing that much mp lol
Campaign all the way, on the hardest difficulty they'll have. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to get CE or regular, but seeing what's inside the CE, I'm leaning towards regular. I'm not in the beta, but I play vs AI.

I called it the collector's ediction lol

Single player mostly, laddering to a lesser extent. Story still comes first to me, no matter how competitive I might be at that point. I am playing the SC2 Beta, yes. Normal edition for me only, I don't bite into the "omfgsoveryspecialjust4youedition" crap.
Campaign. then ill play a few melee matches. if i fail, im going to play UMS > melee

Well, I've laddered a lot in beta... so... hm. I don't know, but I'm looking forward to the campaign a lot. I might just start laddering and save the campaign for a "rainy day".

I'm excited for the campaign. Hoping it will be really fun. And of course I've already had a taste of the multiplayer from beta. So for me, I'm definitely going to dive into the campaign.
Campaign. It's how I learned SC1 and it was a good way to learn and familiarize myself with the game.
already preordered the collector's edition
UMS UMS!!! Well, I guess campaign is like that. I hope they have co op campaign too... cuz it'd be fun to turbo newbie it up
Then I guess I'd start smashing newbie souls.
Buy the game and not play it for a while? seems kind of contradictory if you ask me
I definitely will give the campaign mode a shot first and in between ladder matches :D
Lol @ ppl who want to play bw after playing sc2... Pretty obvious they haven't played sc2 yet

I'll be headed to multiplayer pretty much as soon as I open the program. I always play the campaigns of games later on. I just can't wait to start playing some games against people. I'll return to the campaign at a later date when I have nothing really to do and a lot of time to waste, so that I can just play it all (or a lot) of the way through.

I'm going to beat the campaign in 1-2 days and then start playing online! can't wait!
The campaign sounds really fun, old sc1 units and upgrades you can't get in multiplayer, plus what I'm sure is a great plot and scenarios/environments that are unique to the campaign as well.
where is the option " will not buy the game "
edit : ok saw the last poll
I'll probably try to do my placement matches first, then dive into the campaign straight after.

i have, got shafted into gold by some gay speedling cheese in the first reset, but got out
i seriously enjoy playing bw more than sc2. its just more micro intensive, and macro is actually more fun (than ddd-tab-aaaaaaaaa-tab-dd)
plus i have location keys
I'm going to rush to create some kind of mod with custom assets... I don't have any good ideas for games yet, though, I just want to make shit in 3D and play around with it in the SC2 engine, heh. I hope the editor is released before the game.
probably start with multi player just to get into as low of a platinum division as possible. Then just play campaign between multiplayer games when i get pissed at how imba the other races are.
Don't have a beta so I doubt I'll touch the campaign for weeks. I'm pretty interested in how the plot has developed from SC1, but without the beta I'm so far behind everyone else I just won't feel right unless I put all my effort into ladder ;D
add another poll asking what difficulty they'll play the campaign on
I'll try it on insane
For me I doubt I'll even touch the single player for months. In BW it was a looong time before I even tried the campaign. Plus there's the fact that I don't have beta, have yet to have played SC2 even once, so I'll be too excited NOT to jump right online.
Rush to the map editor and make a money map. Just kidding.
Probably campaign and then some ladder but nothing too serious.

I have been planning a hardcore campaign gaming session for the release of sc2. I am going to lock myself down and try to finish the campaign before sleeping.

Campaign easily, really interested to see if I can beat the hardest difficulty right out of the box.
im going to cry that they never fixed zerg :\
campaign i'm dying to know what duran is up to with his protoss zerg hybrids :3
also a question: will they be selling the collector's edition in regular stores along side the normal one on launch date?
I can't wait to get my hands on the editor! I've already decided to make a campaign but I'm going to start by playing around with the new features.
First things first: play at least one placement match to start piling up bonus points. Then i'll play the campaign
I'm going to start the campaign initially, but in between missions I'm going to be playing around with the campaign editor. After I'm done that I'll probably get in on the laddering.
campagin be4 some idiot ruins it for me

#1 Probably going to dive straight into the campaign. #2 Create Shin Neo Twilight Fortress Baekdu 2.0 which is a 3v3 map with a gold mineral base behind the 2 normal ones where the 3rd player spawns.
Play campaing as i hadn't got into beta it would be just bad idea to go multiplayer without had test the units, builds, etc.
Will beat the campaign first and wait until some of my friends get the game. That might take a while, so I might start laddering right away afterward.
like 60-40 campaign multiplayer
Going right into the campaign. Have already played tons of MP games. I have heard cool things about the single player campaign and im looking forward to it.
Assuming it comes out sometime during the summer (eg I'm not in school), I'll go to the midnight release, take the next day or two off of work and go all the way through the campaign. Then I'll start doing team games with friends; maybe try laddering when I can be bothered.
