So I ran out of books to read today and it really sucks since it's the only thing that can make me fall asleep at night, so I need some advice on good books to read.

Right now I'm into self-biographys, I read trough The Dirt in 5 days and The Heroine Diaries in 3 (which is pretty quick for me). I know that before I've also enjoyed biographys of athletes.

So with this in mind, what would you recommend me? I think that all the books I've read so far this year has been inspiring so I'd like to keep on that track. In The Dirt you have one of the biggest rock bands of all time telling you how fucked up they were and how they got trough it, same goes for Nikki Sixx in the Heroine Diaries (it's funny how an addict can talk so clearly about how bad his/her addiction is and still crave the drug).

So thanks in advance for the reccomendations

Stranger In A Strange Land - Robert Heinlein
Foundation - Isaac Asimov
A Game of Thrones - George R.R. Martin
The Unknown Terrorist - Richard Flanagan
The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini
1984 - George Orwell

Classics, each of them. Id be surprised if you hadn't read any of them, but I definitely encourage you to read the ones you haven't.

edit: the really inspiring or emotional books would be #1,4 and 5.

Came here myself to suggest this myself.
I recommend this as well!

edit: I liked Animal Farm by George Orwell as well, but it's a pretty short book.

The boy who harnessed the wind

Once you play starcraft, everything else in life seems alot easier.

Ray Bradbury writes some pretty weird shit. It's almost all classic.

Nothing to be Frightened of by Julian Barnes is good. It's an atheist's memoir on death.

i need a good book to relax b4 sleep too

With that being said, I was going to suggest A Game of Thrones by George R.R Martin but dethrawr beat me to it lol. That (and the subsequent titles in that series) has kept me up reading way past my usual bedtime many a night, and im just rereading it again now.

I haven't finished it, but I'm just starting to read the book for Hitman(ebook). I heard it was pretty good, and I loved the games and think I'm going to like it. So if you're into that kind of stuff maybe give it a look.

Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card

A very good sci-fi book. The entire series is very good!

Lol. XD

If you enjoyed The Dirt you should obviously check out Slash's autobiography. ^__^
Jan Guillou's autobiography is sweet if you like him.
Anything with Shakespeare is worth reading as well.

Be careful here lol~

I was recommended this book by TL.net too. People were going crazy over it and I ended up buying the whole series before even reading the first book. (Ender's Game)

Well, I ended up reading it and honestly, I finished it. I was intellectually aroused I guess you could say and the story played out like a movie in my head. Like it was well written, strong story, etc.

But it just wasn't for me. It was so ... sci-fi.

I don't like to judge a book by its genre because I like all types of stuff. But Ender's Game was just... not pleasurable for me even though it did exercise the intellect.

One of my favourite books is Frank Herbert's Dune.

A compelling story about racism, political intrigue and self-realization. Contains great (madeup) scientifics to help describe the world.

Contains many comments on our own "modern" society.
