Group A:
Kwanro < Fighting Spirit > hyvaa
Kwanro may be trapped, but now the most critical player in deciding the fate of Group A... Well, him and Hyvaa.
If Kwanro wins: Flash fans can exhale. Kal and Flash both advance to the quarterfinals.
If Hyvaa wins (the scenario you should ALL be rooting for): All bets are off. Flash, Kal, and Hyvaa tie for first and must duke it out in a round-robin playoff. One poor bastard will not survive. More games! More!!!
Prediction: Kwanro is clearly the favorite with his sexy ZvZ, and I like the kid, but I'm rooting for Hyvaa to force a sick playoff. I am extremely doubtful, but I just have to remind myself that Hyvaa beat Flash, so he can take one from Kwanro, too.
Group B:
BaBy < Eye of the Storm > Movie
If Movie wins: Then that's that, finalist Movie and Baby advance to the quarterfinals.
If Baby wins: Wazaam! Movie, Hwasin, and Stork, all tie for second and enter a round-robin playoff for the one remaining quarterfinal berth.
Prediction: With Movie's painfully average PvT, Baby is the clear favorite, which is perfect because we want that playoff! In the playoff, I don't know who will advance, but I'm certain that Hwasin will not. It'll come down to the PvP match, where you'd think Stork would win, except he had actually lost to Movie last week... Hmm...
Group C:
Pure < Great Barrier Reef > ZerO
Don't scoff. Pure beat Zero back in the EVER Ro16, and eventually advanced to the quarterfinals via playoffs, and completely destroyed Calm in this OSL. To be fair, that was actually his evil twin Clam attempting to sabotage his career again.
If Pure wins: Case closed, Zero and Pure advance>
If Zero wins: OH YEAH! Pure, fantasy, and Calm, enter a 3-man playoff to fight over the one remaining quarterfinal berth. And with no mirrors!
Prediction: It's my lucky night. Zero is going to destroy Pure. With dual destructo-beams. Thus we will our playoff, where Calm will rise from the dead for the second straight OSL and advance to the quarterfinals, thanks to the ineptitude of fantasy's TvZ builds and Pure being himself. Of course, this is assuming Clam doesn't infiltrate the premises.
Group D:
fOrGG < Match Point > Shine
If Shine wins: Shine and ForGG advance to the Ro8.
If fOrGG wins: Oh snap! More playoffs! Shine, Effort, and go.go, head for a playoff for the final Ro8 slot.
Prediction: There's absolutely no logical reason to believe that Shine will win. I would say that ForGG just needs to go bio to win, but ForGG just eliminated Shine from the MSL with a pure goliath timing attack, so I guess he can make whatever the hell he wants. Playoffs, baby! Effort can't ZvZ or ZvT anymore, but go.go is hardly reliable, as was seen last night. Shine can't TvZ, but he'll probably roll Effort again. And again, go.go is inconsistent. But my spidey-senses indicate that he will still lock into this season's T>Z trend and advance.
Hyvaa, Shine, Movie, and Pure are all in control of their own destiny -- and everyone else's. Will they choke? Will we see four different playoffs? Will the defending champ make it?
There is still some goodness within the power of progaming, and this is it.
Booya.
