As all of you know, on battle.net they have an opt in page. If you are lucky you get chosen to be in the Starcraft II beta. I have been opted in since the opt in came out. Two days ago one of my friends opted in for the beta and today he was chosen to participate in the beta, unfortunately he sold his friend invite key to someone else.
The conversation went like this..
me:Hey man whats up?
him:not much you?
me:oh just playing Sc:Bw on iccup while i die waiting for the beta..
him:oh, I have that
me: have what?
him: the beta thing, im really bad though and barely play it, sc isnt my thing..
me: oh really? when did you opt in for it?
him: yesterday, was playing wow (world of warcraft) and i heard about the cataclysm beta in guild chat
me: oh..so you signed for the sc2 beta aswell?
him: myswell have eh? look where it got me? 50$ and a game
me: wait, what? you sold the key? shoulda given it to me?
him: oh well, maybe next time..

It appears as though they are looking at a variety of different computers and not the people "first in line" which doesn't seem fair..Like wtf, he doesn't even play starcraft..What a waste, a lot of people have been playing starcraft since it was first released in 1998.

I have 2 Blizzard accounts 1 for each computer.
My brand new PC (brand new ish) that i've had for a couple months i oped in right when i got done building it. No beta key of that account.

funny thing, i opted in on my first account like 1 year ago - still no beta on that, then the same week they released the first keys i registered another account with the exact same computer specs.
and i got a beta invite in the next wave - on my newly registered account, no the one that had been opted in for over a year

Acc 1 with sc, bw, wow, tbc, wotlk, wc1, wc2 + exp, wc3 + frozen throne, diablo 1, diablo 2 + LoD. Signed up a loooong time ago.
Acc 2 has a single registered d2 key, signed up 2 weeks ago.
can you guess which one got the invite?
