Saw him last night for just $10! Incredible show, best ive seen since i saw corea, clarke, and white last september. scott colley keeps it all together on bass and antonio sanchez does all sorts of crazy polyrhythms and stuff. he is such an amazing drummer, and he writes all their songs, great songs to.

The group is interesting, it is bass, drums, and 2 saxes. So there is no chording instrument(guitar, piano) it leaves a lot of space.

Heres one of my favorite tunes he played, "Did you get it?"

Note: the group i saw last night had different saxes

I don't know much about Sanchez, though The Way Up is one of my favourite albums -- but this is really something else. You're super lucky for getting to see that live! Where did you see him? Some festival near where you are?

no, I live in the middle of nowhere, humboldt county, but theres a state university here and something called "redwood jazz alliance" that brings a lot of talent up here for great prices. It is definitely one of the best shows ive ever seen.
