Gaming journalists who write in mainstream gaming magazines and online reviews are total assholes. Every month I waste another $10 buying something that I can read while i take a shit, and inevitably i leave the bathroom feeling frustrated and angry.

There are 3 main types of asshole journalists which i will try to describe in detail.

Journalist 1: The robot

All this guy does is repeat the specs of the hardware or the features of the game. He doesn't give any insight, has no opinions. Example: "The new gaming keyboard has black keys and a USB connection. It also has 5 macro buttons"....Thanks asshole, I really could not have found out this information without you. Did you just cut and paste straight from the developers website?

Journalist 2: The noob

This guy has NO idea. He tries to describe a game or product but totally misses the important issues. You might as well read the side of a ceral box to get the latest info on starcraft beta. Example: "I really like the new mutalisks in Starcraft 2 beta, they remind me of the old ones".... Thanks asshole, if I wanted bland statement on nothing i would have asked my 3 year old cousin. And he would probably have even done a better job.

Journalist 3: The pro

This guy thinks he knows everything but never actually gets into a single game enough to make an intelligent comment. In fact, half of his convicting opinions are straight up incorrect. This guy gets his credentials by beating everyone in the office with mass carriers. When he tells you "Thankfully blizzard lowered the cost of mutalisks in starcraft 2" you just cant stand to read another page.

Next time I'm just gonna buy a womens gossip magazine. At least I'm not going to get angry about the rubbish they put in them.

How the fuck is Esports and gaming ever going to take a mainstream hold in Western culture when the journalists are dumb assholes.

This is the problem with every gaming magazine, basically i subscribed every year for the bast 6 years to PCWorld, anything i want to know about GAMES is off sites like TL where the community knows whats up.

Dude, get a library card. No sense paying for magazines you hate and are probably only going to read once.

Actually, I can't remember the last time I've touched a gaming magazine. All the stuff I read is online...

Gaming magazines, and everything printed for that matter, are a thing of the past. Why not just go on the internet where you can get more information faster?

How do you think they come to be professionals in the first place? They're just regular gamers.

Totally agree. Then there's the 4th type: TLFE.
TL provides the hands down best english ESports coverage ever.

Yer they are pretty terrible, if I get them it's just for a novelty or gimmick like a special on SC2 or an interview with someone cool or something. Get the version without that shitty demo disc it's only like $7 or $8

Yeah that's another thing. Those demo disks seem to rape my operating system every time you put them in the CD drive. Buggiest software EVER. Their programmers who make the disk interface software are possibly worse than the journalists. At least the journalists know how to spell .Not that I have tried to use a disk lately since I learned my lesson 10 years ago. Maybe they have improved since then.

Nintendo Power was awesome back in the '90's. I was paying $20/year for 100 pages of Nintendo-approved ads to show up at my house monthly, and I loved it. My favorite part was how even the most obviously awful games would never, ever get a bad score.

Also the games they covered were essentially full game guides.

Gaming magazines are absolute overpriced garbage. The journalists suck. I regret spending any money on them. PC Gamer and GFW magazine are the ones that I've read for PC gaming. GFW was all right but PC Gamer was and still is absolute shit.

Nobody reads game magazines for reviews anyways. They just wanna see the pics and get info about release dates, insider info, cheat codes, etc.
If you seriously read game magazines for reviews you're retarded. Just like movies, or anything really, you just gotta take everything they say with a cup of salt.
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

So Charlie, now im a retard just because i hope to read something meaningful in a magazine i pay money for?? Maybe you expand on your definition of "Nobody". Plenty of these magazines are written for a mature audience of gaming / computing enthusiasts.

the only magazine you buy to look at the pictures is penthouse.

The 90's RULED. best gaming decade. guess in which decade SC was released? all games back then had "not so spectacular" graphics, but most of them had amazing gameplays. Gameplay is King. Super NES + Genesis FTW
