SC2 causing "no signal"

Spartan United States2030 Posts March 10 2010 10:55 GMT #1 Okay, this ONLY happens when I'm playing SC2, granted I don't play any other 3D games (not since I played Crysis on this PC over a year ago). So about every 10-15 matches my monitors, both of them (dual setup) will say "No signal" while I'm in the middle of a game and I have to restart my computer. I have the case open right in front of me while I play and none of the fans stop working so it's not overheating (the video card). Does anyone know what could be causing SC2 to crash my video card (that's the only reason why it would say "No signal" on my monitors)?

The newest driver has some fault with the fan's on the card, and therefor its overheating (also this can hurt your card). Try downgrading to this: Win XP 32 Win XP 64 Win Vista/7 32 Win Vista/7 64

Spartan United States2030 Posts March 10 2010 12:33 GMT #6 I don't think it's overheating.. the fans stay on and I'm playing with my case open. If it was overheating that doesn't explain why sometimes I can play 20 matches in a row until it crashes, or it crashes every 2-3 matches after a fresh restart and 5 min downtime for computer. And that driver that you linked is the one I am using and it's still doing it.

Random() Kyrgyz Republic1462 Posts March 10 2010 12:59 GMT #7 Try to clean the dust from the heat sink beneath the fan. It really likes to clump there, especially if your case is open. Even if the fan works fine, the dust clogs can easily cause overheating.
